Cannot install REX 2

Featured Replies

Just purchased REX 2. It arrived in the mail today. When I try to install from the DVD, I get an error message:"This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package"Does anyone know what that heck this is? Needless to say, I tried to call PC aviator where I purchased this from, but it is after hours, and I tried to leave a voice message, but was told that this option is not currently available. Sounds like I got a corrupt DVD, no?Thanks,Chris Catalano

I'd try disabling UAC and make sure you're installing with admin privileges

Chris -What error are you receiving? Are you using Windows XP SP3?Please try this: copy all the files from the dvd to a temp folder and start the msi file. Let me know if that helps, if not you can contact me directly at: [email protected]

Thanks - this seems to have done the trick (although I am not sure what an "msi" file is). I had to install with the file that was called RE X2_rtm_20100130 and it works prefectly now! Thank you!Chris
