LLEEO1 STAR to KDET

Featured Replies

I'm flying from West Virginia to Detroit. The obvious STAR is LLEEO1 which begins for me at the DJB VOR. FSX however does not have LLEEO in it's data base, although my RXP GNS530 has it, and the STAR in it's database. If I use it however, I will not be on my flight plan course and ATC (RC) will jump on me for being off course. Is there a way I could handle this and actually fly the STAR?

you have to put the star into the .pln, and you can fly it until you call approach. approach will then start vectoring.flight planning and stars are discussed in the manual, under that title. www.jdtllc.com/v4/rcv43.pdfjd

I understand that, but the key intersection for this STAR is not in FSX. LLEEO is simply not available to put in the flight plan. I realize that's not RC's fault, just wondering if there is something I'm missing.

tough one. is there one really close?oranother planner.or use real flight plans from flightaware.comjd

I downloaded the .pdf for LLEEO TWO (current) and created two plans one from KPIT and one from KCRW since I did not know from where you are coming. These are in FS9 format which RC and FSX accept. I used FSBuild with the 1002 AIRAC available - it didn't have the STA but did have the necessary waypoints.AVSIM will not accept a .pln file nor a .zip so I uploaded here after changing the extension from .pln to .txt. You can edit in a new cruise altitude if needed. Change the extension back to .pln after downloading.Since these plan files contain the coordinates for each waypoint it should work even if not in a database. If needed I can get FSX XML type plans to you. There were no published SIDS for KPIT Pittsburgh. Hope it works for you,

Important !!!!Don't edit those FS9 plans using the FSX or FS9 built in planner. It will add an extra field that at least RC will not accept. If you need to change the altitudes edit those with a text editor like Notepad. Keep a backup copy.FYI: I tried to find filed plans on flightaware.com between those two departure airports and KDET and nothing came up.If you are satisfied with those plans for FSX I'll generate XML ones that can be edited in FSX and you can try those.

Flight Sim Commander is a really excellent planner, almost like FSNavigator but for both FS9 and FSX. It also runs stand alone so you can do your flight planning before you even start FS. Additionally, you can use airways so for example if you place LAS J146 LAX it will automatically insert all intersections and VORs within that Jet route.

Thanks for the ideas guys. Hopefully this is just an odd occurence at this one place. I had tried using Plan G but it of course has the same intersections as FSX since that's where it gets them. It does offer the option of adding your own waypoint, so I'm thinking that's what I should do. Anyway, I appreciate the input. Thanks,Bill

Let me know if one of those two plans works for you. If not give me the details and I'll generate one in XML format for you.I suggest you acquire a planner with some AIRAC updates. The built in database in FS9 and FSX is quite behind. As long as waypoints and coordinates are in the plan, they don't need to be points in FSX as long as you don't need to edit them in the FSX planner. I use both the PMDG 737NG (exporting to its FMC format) in FS9 as well as some freeware aircraft with added avionics that accept those waypoints and never had a problem. These plans are loaded into RC and Active sky.
