Yup.. kind of takes your breath away, doesn't it? Ironic is a kind word. I would start with hypocrite and work my way up the escalation scale from there.

Hello TomMay I suggest you download a file from fsplanet and keep your eyes on the popups and VOLFTP page. Check out the top ten files. You will not be surprised to find a Spyware utility listed. Once again Ferdy is linked to spyware. this is the file description:Name and version: Angry IP Scanner 2.05 Filename: ipscan.zip Vote (1 to 5): -- Date: 11 June 2002 Size: 100,193 bytes (97.84 Kb) Operating systems: Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 95, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows NT Description: Angry IP scanner is a very fast and small IP scanner. It pings each IP address to check if it's alive, then optionally it is resolving hostname and tries to connect at specified in Options dialog box TCP port. The program uses separate threads for each scanned address to reduce scanning speed. It can also display NetBIOS information: computer name, workgroup, currently logged user and MAC address. No. of downloads: 739 Author or Software House: Angryziber Software Homepage: http://www.angryziber.com/ Type: Freeware So VOLFTP is a huge company I hear, but not so big on ethics and copyright laws. So big it has no problem advertising this sort of stuff.I think if you care to look all around Ferdys banners you may find a lot more illegal stuff like soft porn calendar links:-(Considering some flightsimmers are youngsters I think Ferdy should be ashamed of himself.VOLFTP also Brag that they have 14000 of our files for download! 14000 stolen files that is.This theft goes on everyday, the man behind the theft is Ferdy Serena. I guess we could all email the Spanish Authorities in our countries and see if he can be brought to book.Venting over for another day:-(Best

Well, unfortunately, looks like I'm not getting as far with these guys as I had originally thought. Here's what he sen't back when I pointed out the file name and locations:I see: we thought you were referring to our MAIN archive, not to one of our mirrors, which is NOT in our direct control. You should refer to Mr. Ferdy Serena ([email protected]), responsible for FsPlanet.com.Best regards,**********************************************Antonello Orru'So anyway, I sent back a letter to Ferdy and Volftp saying I don't care whose server it's on, just take it off. (what really annoys me is that there is no mirror- the links on FSplanet point to the volftp site directly!)

>Something else to think about: What about the site >advertisers? I noticed that both eDimensional and Lago are >sponsors of the site with prominent banners. Maybe someone >should contact them and explain what is going on... I doubt >they would be happy to be associated with a site that >actively promotes piracy. Hit 'em in the wallet! :D Sponsors have been informed, and some of them already support us.

Sorry about this, just had to ask....Chris Ehttp://website.lineone.net/~flightsimukAvoid AGP texturing = Better Performance ;)

Francois_Dumas,Copyright laws in Italy exist, and are enforced. Please, keep (inter)national "pride" out of this thing, it has nothing to do with it.Please note, this is not to defend FSplanet or VolFTP in any way, I only think that offensive remarks toward a nation have nothing to share with this.'Bye, Kefren

Tom,From the "First Class" page at FSPlanet, it says that all standard downloads are hosted by their "mirror, Volftp" and that they have a separate server to hold the pirated files for first class members. The company they use is RackShack.Could you possibly contact them as well? It might be helpful if you contacted both the Customer Service department, as well as the CEO, who is listed there as well:http://www.rackshack.net/support/index.aspIt's just that a message from the "Avsim Corporation" ;-) is much more professional than an angry note from one person.

Hi TomThat makes me very happy and I am sure a great many others will have smiles on there faces at this news. Let me know how you get on with your Texas pal?By the way, maybe things are beginning to bite over at fsplanet.com No new files posted now for 2 days:-)I wonder if the first class members expecting new poached files everyday will want their money back?Hummm that's a point, who are these people who pay for pirated files? They must have a loose screw or money to waste when they can get them for free at Avsim and FS.com:-)Best for now:-)

Hi AllFSPlanet linked to Spyware again update.Angry IP Scanner 2.05.This file has now been removed from the VOLFTP page. Someone at VOLFTP is taking notice.Another point I would like to bring up is:What does Lago who run a banner and Abacus who sponsor at fsplanet.com think about Ferdy stealing files for profit? Do they not care about freeware being abused in this manner? Publishers need to step back and take a long hard look at FSplanet.com and ask themselves if they want to be associated with Ferdy and this piracy for gain fiasco. Could we have some answers from these publishers please?I have had answers off the other sponsors at this site, who have asked to keep their replies private. I can say all were favourable and supportive. Abacus did not reply.Best

I don't know if I'm the first to notice this or I missed it's posting in the threads here...but...this from the VOLFTP site:IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR AUTHORS OF FLIGHT SIMULATOR FILES:The rules specified above DO NOT apply to Flight Simulator mirror: VOLFTP will not insert any file on its CD-ROMs/DVD ROMs without first obtaining permission from the authors. File access on VOLFTP will stay free as it has always been.END OF NOTICEThomas LinTaxiwaySigns.com

I visit FSPlanet.com today and notice some new files, I try to download it and it redirects me to VolFTP site.Nothing happen and I didn't get the file....Anyone here is FSPlanet.com first class member ? perhaps you could tell us how you are getting the file from what source ?
