Any W7 experts

Featured Replies

Ok my specs are in my siggy, I just went from XP 64 to W7 64, here's the strange problem, Im using fpslimiter and its locked at 30, with XP64 it would stay pretty much right a 30fps. However with W7 in full screen mode its averaging between 9 and 14 fps, if I pan around it sometimes jumps up to 94 fps. If I switch it to windowed mode it's fine, stays locked at 30 fps. Anyone have any advice or thoughts.

I don't like to jump to conclusions but I think the issue was nhancer 2.5.9, I have never used this version before, I always used 2.5.7 on XP64, now I uninstalled 2.5.9 and just used the nvidia control panel since I don't have a copy of 2.5.7 anymore, and my fps are back locked and stable at 30. Anyone else using v2.5.9?? probably something I did, who knows.

Wrong again :( still happening, it seems to only do this over water,(Trying o complete a flight from KONT to PHNL, everthing is fine util I start heading out over the pacific) Im using rex 2.0 with my water sliders on low 2X, never had this problem before. The fps are all over the place 4 to 14 to 112, Im using fps limiter locked at 30. But something is defiantly wrong, going to uninstall the 197.45 driver and try something else. If anyone has any other advice let me know.

A couple of things spring to mind as I had no end of video problems when I moved to W7.The W7 Nvidia drivers all seem awful in W7 64 bit. Many sware by the 182.50s but I've found the latest 197.45s the be the best of the dozen or so i've tried.I also found that with the W7 Nvidia drivers, I got much better and steady framerates by not locking framerates at all (well actually I lock at 99).Other than that, its a case of removing the FSX profile in the Nvidia driver by deleting it from the xml file and the registry (if you are comfortable with that).IAN

Im on the nvidia site now, going to try the 197.45"s I can't find the 182.50's anymore, its not in there archived files, anyways I'll try that before I start stomping around in the registry :( , my new gtx 480 arrives tomorrow, I just hope its not a lingering problem with that card.
