May 6, 201016 yr So far not impressed, using the latest drives and also tried the drivers with the cd, Im using W7 64 and have applied the ******* B=0 tweak but even without it I keep getting corrupted graphics and this crash nvd3dum.dll which I know is related to nvidia. I have reinstalled my drivers so many times in the last few hours and have even done a clean install of W7, should have stuck with xp 64. What can I do to stress test my video card, how can I tell if its just an fsx problem or a faulty card, everything seems to work ok until I fire up fsx.
May 6, 201016 yr Author I just tried the beta 197.75 drives same thing except now it violently flickers and I keep getting this message in my eventviewer "Disply driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered" but then fsx just freezes up.
May 6, 201016 yr My GTX 480/Windows 7 64 setup is working fine. Here is what I did:First I uninstalled the video card drivers for the GTX 470 using the standard uninstall programs feature.Next, I installed the GTX 480 and used the disc to install the drivers. Finally, I downloaded the 197.75 beta driver and installed it without removing the previous driver.I do not use any form of driver removal tool as I have read to many complaints about these utilities screwing things up.I have mine running at 800core/1600shader/1900memory using MSI Afterburner. May 6, 201016 yr Author Thanks for the tip Shane, my 480 is useable now. DriverSweeper off my machine for good. But I tell ya as soon as the XP 64 bit people can confirm to me that the 480 is good to go, W7 will be in the garbage and XP 64 will be back on my rig so fast it will make your head spin!!! :(

Plus, driver support for XP will probably start falling off soon. Shane Gavin

May 15, 201016 yr Author Sorry to get off track, but have to ask how that EVGA GTX 480 SuperClocked card of yours is as far as noise and temperature? When I start fsx I set the fan speed to 70, it not loud at all, set it to 100% and its very loud, its stays around 60 while playing fsx, have been doing some testing over these last few days and I cannot use the BP=0 tweak at all, instantly the driver will fail or the bluescreen. I have been going non stop on this card, trying every possibility to get the BP=0 tweak to work, even went back to vista 64 to see if the drivers were better then W7, nope crash after crash, even if I use a poolsize over 300000 I get a crash, pretty sure right now Im going to take this card out and use my gtx 260 again, I might set it on fire, throw it off my roof top, or wait to see if the drivers get any better, I haven't decided yet :(

I use Windows 7 64 and the 197.75 WHQL driver. Shane Gavin
