Moving Map Approach Plates

Featured Replies

I understand that Jeppeson does not produce its FSX Sim Charts any longer. Is anyone aware of another product that offers a moving map for approach plates? Thanks!

You might want to check out AivlaSoft. Their electronic flight bag looks to have what you need. There is a link on the Avsim home page (side bar ads). Looks like it has a free trial as well. Refresh the Avsim home page a couple times and you'll see the banner.Thaellar

Yes, the Aivlasoft EFB is a great replacement for Simcharts. It has approach plates, ground charts, and "enroute" charts plus more. There was an avsim review about 3-4 months ago that was convincing to me -- I used the 30 day demo and ended up buying a copy. I don't fly without it.From reading their forum, there should be a new version out very soon too.

Yep, recommend it :(

The latest (1.2) version of the Aivlasoft EFB includes Approach Profile Views - that are also usable as a 'moving map.' You can watch yourself tracking the "descent slope" on all approaches, not just ILSes.There are lots more new features besides that. It's almost like having an FMC for my Skyhawk and Caravan. Here's a link to the new user guide - http://www.aivlasoft...l%202010.11.pdf
