May 16, 201016 yr Hi HIFI!Why this:when i import a route in ASE then i became different wind-data for my flightas i use the program ASV6.5I mean any little changes are possible, but this:ASE - Route LOWL-LTAI : Winds 235/52 Wind Component 14.ASV6 Same Route : Winds 299/54This are not little different winds, but ASV and ASE works with the SAME DATA.Alti
May 16, 201016 yr Hi,The data is not the same.ASE has virtual stations and enhanced route coverage. Both programs would be correct if that is what you used with your FS.
May 17, 201016 yr While we are on the subject of average wind in route, something ive noticed lately which has been happening a bit is the tailwind/headwind component is actually more than the wind itself. By that i mean, for example if the average wind shows 295/50, the headwind/tailwind component might be 65 knots. How can the component be higher than the actual wind itself?Andy

The actual wind at any individual waypoint along the route, might be quite a bit higher (or lower) than the average. If you had only two waypoints in your flight plan, and one had a wind speed of 75 knots, and the other 25 knots, the average of those two figures would be 50 knots. On the other hand, if your FMS shows an actual wind of 50, and a headwind component of 65, that would be a bug in your FMS itself. I don't think Active Sky could cause that effect.Jim Barrett Jim BarrettLicensed Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic, Avionics, Electrical & Air Data Systems Specialist. May 17, 201016 yr Author Hi,The data is not the same.ASE has virtual stations and enhanced route coverage. Both programs would be correct if that is what you used with your FS.Hi Jim!really not the same data?ASV did load the data from HiFi Server 1, also ASE did this... ?Or did the programs calculate in other way with the same downloaded data? When the wind blows from the west, then it is in Simultor so no matter whether I use ASV or ASE. From that time forth should the calculated wind at the same entry route you also be the same. Or I'm lying there not right?Sorry for bad englisch...i translate with google.Alti
May 18, 201016 yr Andy,That wind component is not in knots, but a relative value.Alti,They are called Server 1 and Server 2 in both programs, but that doesn't mean that the servers are the same or the data is going to be exactly the same. You are not comparing the same things here.
