May 18, 201016 yr Is this normal, while flying fsx with the BP=0, I open my EVGA precision and see that my GTX 480 Core Clock is spiking up and down from 406 mhz to 726 mhz, constantly, I get really bad stutters then everything shuts down, Im trying to figure out why so many others can get this card to work but I can't, the temp of the card is around 50, the gpu usage stays between 33 and 42 % and the memory usage is around 475 mb . Here is my cfg file, edit also the memory clock spiking from 300 to 1900 mhz aswell as the shader clock from 600 to 800 to 1451,Never really paid attention to these settings before because I never really had problems with a gpu before.[bufferPools]UsePools=0[JOBSCHEDULER]AffinityMask=14[FSDREAMTEAM]AntiPopUp=4AltitudeCull=1[GRAPHICS]ALLOW_SHADER_30=1SHADER_CACHE_VERSION=5HIGHMEMFIX=1ForceFullScreenVSync=1ForceWindowedVSync=1SHADER_CACHE_PRIMED_10=1693458437SHADER_CACHE_PRIMED=1693458437D3D10=0TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=1024NUM_LIGHTS=8AIRCRAFT_SHADOWS=0AIRCRAFT_REFLECTIONS=1COCKPIT_HIGH_LOD=1LANDING_LIGHTS=1AC_SELF_SHADOW=0EFFECTS_QUALITY=2GROUND_SHADOWS=0TEXTURE_QUALITY=3IMAGE_QUALITY=0See_Self=1Text_Scroll=0[sOUND]AmbientUIMusicVolume=-6.000000PrimaryDevice={00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}VoiceDevice={00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}SOUND=1SOUND_QUALITY=2SOUND_LOD=0UISound=1AmbientUI=1[Display]TextureMaxLoad=9ChangeTime=4.000000TransitionTime=4.000000ActiveWindowTitleTextColor=255,255,255ActiveWindowTitleBackGroundColor=0,28,140,64NonActiveWindowTitleTextColor=255,255,255NonActiveWindowTitleBackGroundColor=24,33,87,64InfoUpperRightTextColor=255,0,0InfoUpperRightBackGroundColor=0,0,0,0InfoLowerLeftTextColor=255,255,255InfoLowerLeftBackGroundColor=255,0,0,128InfoLowerRightTextColor=255,255,255InfoLowerRightBackGroundColor=255,0,0,128InfoBrakesEnable=FalseInfoParkingBrakesEnable=FalseInfoPauseEnable=FalseInfoSlewEnable=FalseInfoStallEnable=FalseInfoOverspeedEnable=FalseBLOOM_EFFECTS=0SKINNED_ANIMATIONS=1TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=70UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=0WideViewAspect=False[Main]FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.10User have tried so many different cfg's, Im using the shader fix and nhancer but have tried it without aswell.
May 19, 201016 yr You could use EVGA precision to force maximum clockspeed under all conditions. Just copy the settings from 3d clocks over to 2d clocks. That should take care of it.
May 19, 201016 yr Author You could use EVGA precision to force maximum clockspeed under all conditions. Just copy the settings from 3d clocks over to 2d clocks. That should take care of it.How can I do that? sorry I just don't see any options in the precision utility to do what you suggested, the only options I see is to adjust the processor clock, memory clock and fan speed.
May 19, 201016 yr If you didn't start with the 480-specific version of eVGA Precision (1.9.2), which is only available on the CD that came with your video card, then uninstall eVGA Precision, install version 1.9.2 FROM THE CD, and then you can upgrade to 1.9.3 and later and it will retain the 480-specific component code. Apparently not installing the 480-specific version first can cause the 480 to misbehave. The eVGA forum is attended by their tech support guys...and you can also call them. Having human-to-human interaction available is one big reason I stick with those guys.CheersBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case
May 19, 201016 yr Some people experienced the same issue with the Geforce 200 series. You can check this thread, the solution might apply as well to the 400 series. May 19, 201016 yr Author Thanks guys, I am using the 1.9.3 precision, I think I will contact them and see what they have to say. Thanks for the link to the downclocking problem, it was very informative, seems to sum up my problem perfectly.
