May 26, 201016 yr I have only been using FSX for the past couple of months, after buying a new PC (specs in signature), but have been a long-time user of FS9.I did my first night flight in FSX a few days ago and noticed that with any aircraft (add-on and default) the landing lights and taxi lights hardly illuminate the ground at all. Yes, I do have this ticked in the options! They are there, but they are not casting enough light to be useful. I thought REX might be responsible so I tried restoring the original textures, but it made no difference. So then I uninstalled everything and reinstalled only FSX and suddenly the lights were about as bright as I expected. So then I reinstalled SP1 and SP2, and the landing and taxi lights were dim again. Next I tried uninstalling only SP2 and I once again had useful landing lights. Trouble is, I need SP2 for my add-ons!After doing a forum search I saw several posts about this problem but no solution. Some people mentioned the spotlight.bmp file, so I deleted it and copied over an original, but it made no difference.Does SP2 do something to cause this file (or any other) to be used differently? Is there perhaps a setting somewhere that I could alter? Thanks,Philip.Default Cessna 172 with SP1Same time and place but with SP2 Regards, PD
