Check C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX
That's not the active Scenery.Cfg file. It only serves as a backup in case the active file gets corrupted or deleted. The active file's location depends upon the OS in use, for my XP install it's at;C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\FSXI would be hesitant about using an external HD for scenery storage if it uses a USB connection. If the eHD uses a e-SATA connection you'll be fine. Photo scenery will be continuously read from the HD and I'm not sure a USB drive offers the throughput that would be required. My eHDs use the e-SATA interface and I would have no qualms about using them for scenery storage.

hi,come on guys, the simpler, the betterIt is just a matter of adding a scenery in the scenery library except that you point your scenery file in the HDD. Then you activate it!!I have my photoscenery files on a HDD connected with a USB 2.0 plug. Works great, no problem at all. :(

Hey Gents, Perhaps I should have mentioned that I'm running Windows 7, but I'll find both CFG files, and update both of them. Thanks for the good information!Barney
