June 8, 201015 yr Been loving flying the J41 in and out of London city using the SID and STARS that they use.But just found a SID (clacton) that's exposed a big hole in my knowledge. It seem to rely on tracking specific radials of VORs which I've realised I have no idea how to do on the J41???A scan of the Operating Manual has left me none the wiser. Can Anyone walk me through the process of doing this on the Jetstream.... Otherwise I'll never get to Clacton! :)Dave James http://www.precisionmanuals.c...orum/747400.jpg
June 8, 201015 yr It's pretty much the same as any other aircraft. Tune your NAV1 and/or NAV2 radio appropriately, either through the RMU or the FMS. Set the EHSI in to VOR mode by pressing the V/L button on the EFIS DC twice. Finally, set the required radial(s) using the left and/or right IRCs respectively, by turning the knob labelled CRS (the readout is in a corner of the EHSI). You may also want to use the EFIS DC to set up bearing pointers if necessary, although you can generally get this information from the RMIs (above which there is another DME indicator, in addition to the one located on the EHSI itself). Once the EHSI is set correctly, you can couple in the AP/FD in NAV mode if you so desire. All the above is covered in Chapter 11 of the AOM (p427) if you need to look up things in more detail. Hope this brief post has made things a little clearer.Chris 廖傑英 ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.
June 8, 201015 yr Enter the VOR frequency in the RMU (Radio Management Unit) NAV1 (or NAV2), make sure you have VOR selected on the display selector and it will show VOR1 (or VOR2 if you are using NAV2 radio) on the EHSI (nav screen) and select the course/radial you wish with the CRS dial (the panel you also select a heading and speed). Once it is setup press the NAV button on the FD mode selector (the autopilot switches).EDIT, beaten to it. :) Jay Vorkapic
June 8, 201015 yr Try this navigation tutorial, I learnt a lot from it.http://www.navfltsm.addr.com/basic-nav-plotcourse.htm Paul Smith.
