June 9, 201015 yr Officially, this is Ariane's current position on such situations:'The old server is in a different geographic location. The old files have been removed from the old server and placed on DVD storage backup. For customers wishing to have access to their old files who have been unfortunate to lose them, there may be a new structure involving a fee to find the old files, update/and or package them, provide a way to download them and to provide such access or to provide a shipping service. This will cost money to make and is under development so if we have to charge please understand that it is to cover costs. If any customer has an urgent need please click on the about us link below and send an email with the relevant order ID and product ordered.'This is the email address for that method: [email protected], since it appears you have tried that, I would try this: If you have the information about the purchase such as the activation code and your purchase order number (which you can probably get from the place you bought the thing or your own card purchase records), then you should be able to register on the semi-official Ariane forums that are at this address: www.ariane.havetofly.com In actual fact, you should only need the purchase order id to register. I would then suggest sending Ed from Ariane a PM on that forum in regard to the matter. I don't know if they would give you a new download link, but that is the route I would certainly try. In spite of their reputation for being otherwise, I've personally found they are usually pretty helpful in such circumstances, and I do know that there email system is not exactly the best in the world, so I wouldn't necessarily take the lack of a reply to your email as evidence that they are unwilling to assist you.Ariane are actually right in the process of improving their product support system, which may even include telephone assistance too from what I was told, since as you probably know, their support has had a bit of flak in the past, although I'm not entirely sure if their new system is in place yet or indeed finalised in how it will be structured, nor whether it is intended to cover situations such as you own (I'm only going off what I was told here). Apparently, the reason they are doing that is in direct response to complaints that have been voiced in relatively recent discussions on forums such as Avsim and other places.I can certainly sympathise with your position, I had a fairly similar problem with being unable to reinstall something I bought from Just Flight not so long ago, and unfortunately, after I contacted them about it, I learned that they had no record of the purchase I made, so were unable to give me a new link for a product I had bought from them, and it was basically a case of 'tough luck' on that occasion. But in your case, I do know that Ariane are currently rather keen on scoring brownie points with customers as part of their campaign for the launch of their brand new FSX 737-700ER, so they might be feeling more charitable, which is why I'd try that forum PM route.I'm pretty sure nobody will be especially keen to send you their own files (for the Ariane product or any other for that matter), since that would contravene the purchase agreement they made, and although we are only talking about thirty quid, if a developer learned that someone was sending out files, they'd probably withdraw product support for that person and possibly take legal action too (I know Aerosoft would, that's for sure, and I bet Ariane would too), so someone would risk shooting themselves up the &@($* in terms of their own support in sending you the files (not to mention the fact that it would also amount to piracy). Which means that I reckon the above course I suggested (with a PM on those forums) is likely to be your best shot.I certainly can't send you those files even if I wanted to, since I don't actually own their FS9 700, so good luck, as I say, if you have the purchase info, I daresay they will help you.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
June 9, 201015 yr I cannot really help you, but i do hope you get your situation sorted out.Not to highjack your post, but how is the ariane 737??? Any good, systems wise etc. Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
June 9, 201015 yr I'm going to do you a favor and remove the last sentence in your post. For future reference, don't ask folks to share payware files here, or any files not authorized by the developer (freeware or payware) to be distributed. Jeremy "rightseater" Fletcher
June 9, 201015 yr Can of worms at the ready... There's an Avsim review of the FSX 737-900ER, which sort of will tell you the kind of focus that Ariane 737s tend to have (which in the case of that one which was reviewed, is basically steering in the direction of good FSX performance and reasonably comprehensive systems simulation). The FS9 version however has not been reviewed by Avsim, so here's a very broad rundown of it in comparison to other ones you might have experience of.Potential issues with the Ariane FS9 737s include: Slightly system-heavy gauges that can be a bit laggy, although they seem okay on my system actually, but plenty of people have reported that lagginess, so I assume it must be an issue for them, therefore, be aware that it might affect you. The Nav database in the FMC is not as comprehensive as it could be, so you might find a lack of SIDs or STARs at some airports if you like to fly those (can be solved with the ISG FMC incidentally). Ariane product registration system is via emailed codes, which are not always blisteringly fast to arrive on occasion, so be prepared for a wait sometimes, and expect a repeat performance if you reinstall it. Paint schemes are limited unless you buy more, and there is no paint kit, so it's a bit of a chore to do them yourself, but not impossible if you know Photoshop fairly well.Plus points are: The VC is good, with superior lighting and nice other effects including convincing window icing at altitude. It has a nice flight model and it is pretty friendly on frames. Some likable extras include a driveable pushback tug for the thing. Overall, it is pretty and is Boeing endorsed, if that matters to you.In comparing what is currently available as well known payware FS9 737s, of the Wilco, PMDG and Ariane FS9 737s, I would say the Wilco one has the least accurate external model, the PMDG and Ariane ones are about the same, with maybe the PMDG one edging ahead a little, especially since it comes with a ton of liveries. Until the I-Fly one shows up, Ariane's is certainly the one with the best-looking virtual cockpit by a considerable margin, but the PMDG FS9 737 still beats it on how comprehensive a simulation of all the systems are, so if systems realism is your focus, that's the one for you. Ironically, that means the Wilco one (not an NG) is probably the best FS9 737 at the moment, since although its VC is not on par with the Ariane one, it is still serviceable enough, and since the systems simulation on the Wilco one is good, it is the better all-rounder in the grand scheme of things, particularly given the fact that there are a raft of add-ons you can get for the Wilco one, and the fact that it works in FSX as well. You also get more variants with the Wilco package than you do with either PMDG or Ariane unless you get your hand in your pocket again. In short, if you like a pretty VC and are not fussed about SIDs and STARs being complete, get the Ariane one, if you like systems accuracy, get the PMDG one, and if you like a bit of both and aren't bothered about it not being an NG, get the Wilco one.I personally quite like the Ariane FS9 737 and can live with its FMC shortcomings, even though I do have the Wilco and PMDG ones as well, and if I had to pick one to fly exclusively, I would go for the Ariane one, but that is because I really like its VC and for no other reason, so that's a personal preference, however, the downsides I noted are what prevents it being a choice for many and keeps the PMDG being flown by a lot of people that cannot live without all the SIDs and STARs. The Wilco one is often viewed as the poor relation of the trio (partially because it ain't an NG), but I think that's really rather unfair, as it does have much to recommend it.An outside shot is the Aerosim 737-200, which is in their classic liners package. The VC is probably the ugliest of all, but it is a comprehensive simulation of the older 737, and good fun to fly. With a bit of effort it can be made to work in FSX too. Consider the freeware Tin Mouse one too if you like the old 200 series.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
June 10, 201015 yr Thanks for the very descriptive reply. I am in dire need of a 737 NG, But i think I will wait till the Ifly gets released and reviewed. The only 737 I have is the PMDG, but its not cutting it anymore for me. June 10, 201015 yr Yup, it remains to be seen how the I-Fly 737NG for FS9 and FSX fares. I suspect it will probably be warmly welcomed by FS9 users though, since all of the ones that are currently available for FS9 are a bit long in the tooth in one way or another, and many developers are shifting to FSX alone, although I do think the 600 was an odd choice for their first one.I-Fly might have the field to themselves where new FS9 NGs are concerned, but it remains to be seen whether their product will live up to the promise of the screenshots. Even so, if I-Fly do well with it, one of the good old standbys might get an upgrade and come back to the feeding trough if I-Fly demonstrates there is money to be made. It wouldn't take that much for any of the existing FS9 737s to get a makeover and compete with it, and given the interest people have shown in it, I bet that thought has crossed the minds of other developers who've already got one halfway there. As far as FSX goes, there can be little doubt that the PMDG FSX NG will be very comprehensive, nor are Ariane standing still with their FSX 737s, having just this week released a new version of their 700 that has terrain mapping, revised avionics, plus a few other improvements - be interesting to see how that one fares, and indeed if that stuff is going to filter down to their FS9 NGs. That would really put the cat among the pigeons! I wouldn't put it past AeroSim to do an FSX 737NG either, since they currently appear to be working their way through the Boeing catalogue, having already tackled the 777, 767 and 747, and if the Tin Mouse team do an FSX version of their 200, then we'll be going from famine to feast with FS 737s. It's certainly going to be an interesting (and potentially wallet-busting) time for simmers in the next few months if the baby Boeing is amongst their favourite aircraft, especially if they use both FSX and FS9.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
June 10, 201015 yr I'm hoping it plays out exactly how you mentioned it. If the I-Fly fares well in the fs9 world, Im hoping it will push others to revamp their 737 into a new one so to speak. I beleive there is a very big market for a well detailed, well simulated and updated 737NG when it comes to fs9 users, I know i have a huge interest in a 737 to todays standards.P.S Even if the I-Fly team were to release only a 600 model(although looks like other models will follow) I would still purchase if it is up to todays standards.
