June 15, 201015 yr I have designed some simple things for other simulators, but not for FS9. I would like to modify my home airport; as the default is pretty lacking. :)I was thinking of using ADE for the scenery portion, and I may even figure out how to model some buildings myself. My problem is that I will need to flatten some more area around the airport. ADE will not do that. SBuilder seems pretty complicated. Is there an alternative? Also, how to I figure out what grass textures are used by FS9 so I can match it on the additional areas? Thanks in advance for your help and opinions.RonI have used the FSTFlatten utility by Steve Greenwood for several years - simple and it works great for me.You can get it here:http://home.earthlink.net/~smgreenwood/welcome.shtmlClick on the Resources tab ay the top Right of the screen which will display and then select the last item in the short list to download it.SBuilder is what I use to modify ground textures - there are tutorials available. If memory serves, the latest ADE9X now has the ability to work with textures also.Hope that helps.
June 17, 201015 yr I'm still curious about the grass textureTypical method for FS9 is to create a textured polygon covering the area. You can select from the default textures that FS9 provides. SBuilder is the easiest way to create these polys, as SBuilder will show you an example of the texture so you have an idea of what it will look like in the sim. scott s..
