June 19, 201015 yr I'm wanting to get into some good AI package for FSX. I'm lookiing for something that is the easiest on frames.when I was flying FS9 I did F1 Ultimate Traffic, which I enjoyed. but, I'm looking for something that is def. easy on the framesthanksbs Ciao!
June 19, 201015 yr I have always used MyTrafficX, the current version is 5.3 Pro, my AI is set at 30%, my FPS is locked at 30 and I get 30 FPS everyplace except heavy AI areas like NYC and LA. Over NYC and LA I get 20 FPS.FPS does depend on your system. AI adds more load on your CPU so if your system is on the low end of the FSX spectrem any AI program is going to affect your FPS. Post your system specs so people will have an idea of whan your system will be able to handle.
June 19, 201015 yr It's so hard to tell because UT2 doesn't produce traffic the same way and levels vary greatly at different settings. All things being equal, I've found UT2 and MTX5.2b (and I think 5.3 is most of the same models) to get around the same performance with the same number of planes around. So just choose which one fits you bet feature wise,
June 19, 201015 yr Author i just built a new pooterI7-930 2.8 o/c to 4.0ghz6 gigs of corsair high speed mem. oc to 2000mghz? (something like that)water cooledevga geforce gtx 470 overclockedI have everything maxed out except:bloom offwater one notch down from max ( I've heard that the max water is buggy??)all traffic turned up max (just default only)i was getting around 20-25 at ksea and soon as I took off, I was maxed at 30 fps, so I'm really happy so far. Ciao!
June 20, 201015 yr If you have all traffic maxed out that is a lot of CPU load. I have road, ship and boat traffic set to zero. I have no desire to see a bunch of cars and boats tooling around plus the fact that this uses CPU resources. My airport vehicle traffic is set to minimum. With MyTrafficX set at 30% for GA and commercial my airports are full of traffic. I forget the exact percentage, but according to the author of MTX having MTX set at 30% or maybe it was 50% is like having the default FSX traffic set to 100%.Anyway with MTX installed you get more traffic at the same setting as the default traffic and MTX is less of a hit on your CPU. So anyway you can go to MTX, lower your traffic percentage, have just as much traffic and have less of a hit on your CPU.
