June 22, 201015 yr Hey guys Doing some reading from the manual and did an inflight shut down which went good. When trying to restart in the air I tried having the condition leavers in taxi and flight positions and the engine did not restart. I had to manually unfeather then it restarted.Have you guys simulated the automatic unfeathering during an airstart ???Thanks Chris Finlay
June 22, 201015 yr I have discovered you can do an air start without unfeathering. With the engine stopped, make sure the condition lever is in taxi or flight, and use manual start "energise" til engine has spooled up, then switch to "normal". I don't know if this is the way a real J41 behaves, but it works here. Curt Branch
June 23, 201015 yr Author Yea I did that and it worked. Im not sure if thats the real procedure .Chris Finlay
June 24, 201015 yr The relight procedure discussed above is not accurate to real life. I detailed the manual relight procedure/checklist here:http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?s=&...t&p=1762277It should be noted that normally you just set idle throttle, condition levers to flight and press the START button on the overhead - the IECs will do the rest. In the PMDG you also need to run the unfeather pump first. If APR is armed automatic relight will be attempted, I've detailed the intricacies of APR here:http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtop...;hl=j41+relightI hope this helps.Chris (廖傑英) ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.
