They have finally released a 3D driver in Beta form. I have not tried it yet so I don't know if Nick's fixes will work or not. Here is a link to the Windows 7-64 bit version.Nvidia WebsiteStephen

First opinions and feedback is generally favourable according to some of the websites. Apparently it can make certain systems run 10% better in vantage, with single cards. I do not have 3D so I don't know about that, but I guess it is a success. Here is the thread in EVGA that is discussing the new drivers:EVGA FORUMI am going to give it a try and will report back here.Stephen

I just installed the driver and tested briefly. The workarounds that Nick Needham designed seems to work well. Speaking subjectively, with single monitor 2D performance only, I think this may be the best driver for the 400 series yet. First impressions agree with what other gaming sites are reporting - very good!Stephen

Wow they must have just released these, I was on the nvidia site just a few hours ago looking to see if there were any new beta's and nothing, will try these out for sure. It seems like the drivers are getting better with each revision.

Thanks for the heads up. I still have the "CONFIGURATION FROZEN" sticker on my box so I will skip this round but it is interesting to hear what folks are saying.

Just have to say, without conducting an objective evaluation, I love this new driver as the colours seem extraordinary and vibrant. Here is a shot I just took out of the windshield of my Carenado 185 (with clear windows). It seems so real that I felt that I could almost feel the heat from that sun on my face! 1277886870.jpgThe driver seems to make it run a bit faster with a higher bottom end, and a new creamy smooth flow too. Boy, do I need to shut the computer off and go and get myself an ice cream with all this talk! The problem is it's 12:45 am, so it's off to bed instead.Stephen

I gave this new Beta a try..and lost about half my FPS when trying out PNW's new SP 2 patch.I then went back to the Beta 257.15's and regained all my FPS performance and smoothness. With my GTX 285 1GB card, this driver suite seems to be the clear pinacle of performance for at least myself. Funny...how a Beta release was even better than the certified driver that shortly replaced it! Again, at least on my system.Mitch
