No Sound After FS9 Install

Featured Replies

Nothing. Not in FS9, Fs2002, or AOL. Any ideas? And no, I don't have the Blast.exe virus (always running a firewall full time). Suggestions appreciated. I'm running Win98SE, DirectX9.0b, etc....no other changes in software.http://southwest.corpmerchandise.com//asse...s/200015138.gifAlex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MD

Its possible that you've somehow corrupted the sound drivers. If you can find the original soundcard CD that came with your PC (or set of updated drivers for it) you could try re-installing them.I had a similar problem a while ago, and re-installing the sound drivers from the original CD fixed it.Alastair

Thats what I was afraid of, but sounds like a simple fix. Thanks Alastair.http://southwest.corpmerchandise.com//asse...s/200015138.gifAlex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MDhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/30422.jpg

Have you run directx diagnostics to test the sound. Press start, run..., type dxdiag, OK. Let directx diagnostics stabilize, check each tab, run the tests, use the troubleshooting.W. Sieffert

Same thing happened to me. I only got very faint sounds and nothing at all for things like flaps and landing gear. Downloaded and installed latest drivers and it was off the races.Blair
