July 6, 201015 yr Hi everyone, After several yers of apsents Im back. Its good to see old frends stil cum hear nouw and agen. Iv got sum questions that might help me get back in action agen.question 1, FU3 got the seattl FLED models palet,s Red Green Blouw the rong way round or in the rong order. Thats why the seattl windsoks are a derty broun insted of bright red licke thay should be. It also makes sum add on models that hav been renderd with colers insted of textuers cum out blouw insted of bright red as the orther intendid. Sum one, I think it was Andr
July 7, 201015 yr Hi Glidernut, glad to read you again :-)Yes we are still here.Answer 1: Windsocks are brown in the Seattle area because there is no bright red in the region palette.Answer 2: The pointer problem is since WinXP and persist, I still use John's workaround.Answer 3: I am using Microsoft Sidewinder Joystick an in F5 I rotate the plane with the hut key and in F4 also at the same time I can control the plane with the stickmay be you need to check the joystick configgood luckAndre
July 8, 201015 yr Hey Glidernut,Good to see you back. Hope all is OK.Pretty quiet around here tho..Cheers :( :( Bruce H
July 8, 201015 yr Andre1Your right, there is no (bright red) in the Seattle region palette. But there is (a red) all be it a littl bit dark.I can easaly edit that red in the palet and brighten it up.But that dont giv me bright red windsocks, the windsocks stay broun.I dont think how ever originaly made the windsocks intended them to be broun. There are several models in FU3 that lick the windsocks are not renderd with a mip.Insted thay are renderd using UV coulers, and non fo them cum out as the ortherintened.I want a way of geting FU3 to read RED GREE BLUE as RED GREE BLUE and not as BLUE GREEN RED.I know there is a fix for this bicous Iv had it and used it in the past. The anser out there sumwhear. In the meen time, Iv tried to change the order of the palets R G B in paint shop prow 7, the old free vershon that suports FU3 palets format, ie, .pal.But so far Iv not found out how to do this, or even if its posibl. The best I can do so far is to lode a snap shot in paint shop prow 7and tern it into a negativ imige and then load the seattl palett and withoutediting the palett, flip the imige back to normal, then save the palett. So that the saved palett is negativ.Suses, this negativ palett in FU3 dus giv me the red windsocks I wantbut unfortunatly, and perhaps predictably, most other models are all scrood up,Fliping the palett to negativ is not the way to change the R G B order.2I think your right about the pointer problem being a winXP problem, I am useing winXP.I tried win7 but could not get on with it, it runs FU3 ok but meny of the tools and programs I use in conection with FU3 dont work properly.3In the f5 vew wile controling the plain with the Joystick, using the hat on the top of the Joystick, I can moov myself around the plain butonly horizontaly or verticaly no other angl of mooment, and I hav no control over the speed of this mooment, the speed of moovment is fixt.Is this the saim for everyone.HiBruce HYes I is OK.glidernut
July 8, 201015 yr OMG, it's glidernut! :( I thought you had been abducted by aliens :( Even though I have moved on from FU3, I still wonder how you guys are doing from time to time. It's nice to know that you are OK, so I'll be thinking of you when I visit Sutton Bank in FSX (a glider airfield in England). July 8, 201015 yr Hi Glidernut,3In the f5 vew wile controling the plain with the Joystick, using the hat on the top of the Joystick, I can moov myself around the plain butonly horizontaly or verticaly no other angl of mooment, and I hav no control over the speed of this mooment, the speed of moovment is fixt.Is this the saim for everyone.Joystick rotation is hardcoded in fu3, no changes. so for me it's the same. The only way to get better colors in the Seattle area is to use mip-maps but the original windsock is using RGB in FU3 and BGR in FU2 or inverse. This color boxes placed in the region by FLED will demonstrate all possible colors:SanFran, UK and SwitzerlandSeattleThis is the E-Code for 1 color box row, modify material colors for the other rowsBEGIN "Box01"COMMENT{// Converted by 3ds2e July 9, 201015 yr Hi ChirsYes its good to see you stil around.AndreJoysticks,I think it is as I suspected, Joystick tecnolage has not yet mooved on.No one will mack better Joysticks if there are no games that suport them,And no one will mack games that suport better Joysticks when there are nobetter Joysticks. Its a chikin and eg situation, stailmait. palettes,You say mip-maps to get better colors on windsock? yes this might be the way to go.I will hav to think about it.I remember geting a windsock all the way in to 3D studio MAX but its 3 axils was all scrood up, I never did get it back into FU3 in working order. You set a good exampl of how to demonstrate things.I see now that I stil hav so much to lern and understand. I hav saved the snaps of your boxis, your comentory, and the E file info and I will be giving this mater much thort. Thanks Andre.:-) glidernut.
