  1. Good to see there is still a spark left in the old FU3, I rattle it out occasionally and am still amazed at how good this sim is, especially on today's hardware. Long live FU3! Cheers, Bruce H
  2. http://www.businessinsider.com.au/a-guy-in-an-australian-mining-town-used-a-light-plane-to-drive-to-the-pub-2014-11 Cheers, Bruce (Downunder)
  3. Hi, try running the updater from within your Xplane folder, when it finishes it gives you the option of running Xplane immediately. That seems to reset something somehow. Worked for me. On Win 8 it would always hang on startup. After this "tweak" no more problems (so far). Cheers
  4. In Inspector try setting Common-Vertical Sync to 1/2 refresh rate. Worked for me.
  5. Looks like it's right up there with "Airplane!" AKA "Flying High" down under.
  6. I would like to see better control over dual screens in XP. I'm sure a lot of folks would be driving two screens from the one card. It would be great to have bezel management to get rid of the nasty split screen effect. Not sure if this is possible but there you go. As Matthew from "Anne of Green Gables" observed rather dryly, "It don't hurt none to have an opinion" Cheers all, Bruce H (Oz)
  7. I usually tidy my desk and take the trash out .....
  8. I tried it, sounded like it might be useful.... but too many issues. Maybe down the track it may be a little more refined (and useful) It would be great if a voice recognition app could drive the ATC to make it more immersive and user friendly. Maybe 10.30? Cheers Bruce H
  9. Hi, You can also check to make sure your joystick hardware isn't generating the problem by looking at the raw data... Settings - Data Input and Output - Check RH box under joystickail/elv/rud Go back to the cockpit view and you should see the data in top LH corner With joystick centered these values should be pretty close to zero. Cheers Bruce H (Oz)
  10. I've just discovered that Google's cache link point to a much more informative discussion on WED than the one posted in the OP's quote. http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:tDym0b1xZ1AJ:www.x-plane.com/support/manuals/wed/+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=au Strange....
  11. Does anyone know the whereabouts of a proper manual for the new version of WED? The link on the help tab points to the old version...
  12. Hi John, 64 bit is included in the demo. Just run X-Plane.exe. Bruce H (Oz)
  13. Flight Unlimited is pretty good.... nice flight dynamics, stable (only one patch since release), got ATC and AI that work. Shame it got shelved back in 2000 (or thereabouts). Imagine where it would be by now if development continued.. Oh well. Bruce H (Downunder)
  14. Not good for me, just CTD. Preferences blown away, still NBG. Oh well......
