July 9, 201015 yr When I fly in FSX, it is common that I get a black screen in the middle of the flight. When the screen blacks out, I still hear the sound of my aircraft. I started getting this problem about a week or so ago, and I noticed the black screen is occuring more and more often as time goes on.Also, when I CTRL-ALT-DEL' and end process for FSX, my PC freezes and I have to restart.Anyone know a fix? And is this Windows 7 related? Thanks!!Specs:*Also, i have a Nvidia GeForce GTX 295, and the driver is updated*
August 3, 201015 yr Ok I think your system requirements is able to play this game. but check your driphics card driver is it install properly or not and in installed then update it. then try to play game.
August 8, 201015 yr before FSX black screened you, did your entire screen went black, or only FSX? I have the problem where my vidcard stops working and my screen turns black, then comes back but FSX doesn't recover compeltely, only sound keeps working. What fixes it here is just hit ALT+ENTER to go to full screen, and again to go back to windowed, and problem fixed. Regards, Renzo Marcus
August 9, 201015 yr When you see a black screen and the sound continues on, it's usually caused by the video driver timing out and hanging. Often if you look in the event viewer afterwards, you'll see a reference to nvlddmkm.dll as the faulting module. If it's not your vid card going bad, it sometimes can be resolved by loosening the timing for Windows' video timeout detection and recovery (TDR) by making a few registry settings.
