GTS 250 over GTS 8800: results

Featured Replies

I finally "upgraded" from my 3-year old GTS8800 (320Mb) to a new GTS 250 with 1Gb of RAM. Drivers have been updated as well.I have the same FS9 settings and same nHancer settings. What I am seeing:1) less framerates, more stutters2) much more jaggies and far less smooth picture (AA not as efficient). Is this normal?I am surprised considering the performance of the GTS 250 should surpass those of the 8800.I am using the Driver 185.85.Can someone advise, please.ThanksGhiom

HelloOn paper there does not look like there is that much between the two cards.BFG sent me a GTS 250 1MB as a RMI replacement for my 8800 Ultra and the 250 seemed slower to me Pixel (GP/s) Texture (GT/s) Bandwidth (GB/s) Bus width Core (MHz) Shader (MHz) Memory (MHz)8800gts 10.26 24.624 63.4 320 513 1188 1584250 gts 11.808 47.232 70.4 256 738 1836 2200

ThanksActually, I was not looking for a faster card, as I know the bottleneck lies in my old CPU.But I needed more video memory. That seemed to have made the trick, my OOM being gone.At least, I was hoping not to loose speed and image quality.Ghiom
