July 14, 201015 yr Moderator I have all the same addons installed as well and had something similar happen when I was messing with Ultimate Terrain. I think I had turned off one of the Ultimate Terrain options in the scenery.cfg and after doing so lost all the oceans around Miami. I was able to get it back once I checked all the UT enteries in the FSX/Scenery menu. Have you altered those settings in Ultimate Terrain or fiddled with the scenery layers in which UT interacts with landlcass files? Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
July 14, 201015 yr Author Hi,Guess I'll start looking at UT. The only change I made was to night lighting, I turned it off didn't like the look. I ran REX just for the heck of it, did a reinstall of textures, it fixed part of the problem. Instead of ground textures they are now dark blue. July 14, 201015 yr Author Hi,Well, its not in the scenery.cfg file. I just went back to FSX's original 114 entries, still have the same problem as the second screenshot shows. July 14, 201015 yr Moderator Do you recall installing or doing any thing different since the last time you flew in that area, besides turning the lights on and off in UT?How about the most recent GEX updates, have you recently installed those.Seems like what your getting has something to do with UT. I doubt GEX, unless there was a problem with the update it you did it, caused this. It looks like something more along the lines of haveing the coastlines disabled in UT or a landclass issue. What does it look like from inside the sim, like from the cockpit or spot view? July 14, 201015 yr Author Hi,I just wiped out my system. I'll be spending the next eight to ten hours reinstalling Windows 7 64 bit and FSX with addons. Just wish I had Windows XP 64 bit, I'd install that over Windows 7 64 bit.So much for getting any sleep tonight. :( Former Beta Tester - (for a few companies) - As well as provide Regional Voice Set Recordings Two: AMD-9950X | One: AMD-7950X3D | Three: Asus TUF 4090s | Three: 64GB DDR5 RAM 6000mhz | Three: Cosair 1300 P/S | Three: 990Pro 2TB NVME One: Eugenius ECS2512 - 2.5 GHz Switch | Three: Ice Giant Elite CPU Coolers | Three: 75" 4K UHDTVs | One: Boeing 737NG Flight Deck

I am dreading the day I upgrade my OS to Win7 and have to start the whole install over again, especially when it comes to my AI combo of UT2 mixed with WOAI and custom AI. I've been lucky that I am on my original FSX install from a little over two years ago. I keep a log on a simple text file of everything I do to FSX or add to FSX, that way if I suddenly have an issue I can pin point it pretty quickly. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
July 14, 201015 yr Author Hi,I don't believe it, its REX that is causing the problem. Here are the steps I've taken to confirm the issue.1. New install of Windows 7 64 bit2. Install of Windows 7 critical updates3. Installed latest Hardware drivers4. Installed FSX5. Installed FSX Service Packs 1 & 26. Installed fsx_sdk_sp1a7. Installed FSUIPC & FSWIDE8. Installed FSGenesis Mesh (Worldwide)9. Installed Ground Environment X Europe10. Installed Ground Environment X North America11. Installed REX2FSX was started after each step and then closed prior to the next install, this included each FSGenesis disc (10 disc). KFLL was the airport that I checked after each item was installed to confirm the return of the problem. After installing REX2 the above texture problem returned, I then went into REX and restored FSX's textures using REX's restore option, the problem was gone. I then reinstalled REX's textures and the problem returned.I'm going to jump on the REX forum and see if they can help me. Wonder if anyone else is having this problem. The same sort of thing happens anytime I install something from ORBX. To correct it, I have to run the UTX configuration tool again. UTX makes an alteration of some sort that can screw up other things until you run their tool again.Rich
July 14, 201015 yr Author Hi,I thought it was UTX causing the problem, that's why I did not reinstall Ultimate Terrain. As of right now, no Ultimate Terrain addons are installed. July 15, 201015 yr Moderator Mike, did you ever get your problem sorted out? I saw your post over on the REX forum, but no one has replied to it yet. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
