July 23, 201015 yr Hello gents,I don't quite know why I did this, but I disengaged the A/T at some some point. Once having done so, I haven't sorted out how re-engage it. Can you tell how to go about the re-engaging, in the event I manage to shuit it off again? Many thanks,Eric Olson
July 23, 201015 yr Commercial Member Eric, just hit "AUTO FLIGHT" again, this will re-engage ATS, and AP if off. There is no other way.Cheers,Markus Markus Burkhard
July 24, 201015 yr Author Hi Markus,Thanks for the suggestion but I pounded on that AUTOFLIGHT button time after time but got no return of Autothrottle. AQny further thoughts? Thanks,Eric Olson
July 24, 201015 yr Commercial Member Eric, just how did you disengage the ATS again? What's your FMA saying? Is there an amber box around the ATS indication or is it white?Cheers,Markus Markus Burkhard
July 25, 201015 yr Make sure the a Dissconnect buttons/keys on the FCP are not set in Disconnect (pushed down). I can't think of any other reason the AT wouldn't come back after pressing the autoflight button unless you have some other fault (random failures?). Jay Vorkapic
August 1, 201015 yr Author Thanks guys for the suggestions. I don't know how lhe hell I shut it off but I think the A/T dis-engage buttons were still depressed and so, of course, hitting Autoflight didn't re-engage it. I will check further and get back to you. Thanks,Eric Olson
August 9, 201015 yr Hi everybody,I've a question about AT and AP on MD11. Can we disengage AP without disengage AT? Because on manuel landing, when i disengage AP on short final, i disengage AT too, and then my speed is not stabilised !Thanks

You can assign the button through the PMDG menuI think it's called 'Autopilot soft disconnect'Regards Rob Prest
