Hi Gents, I haven't seen any other complaints re Autothrottle in the 737-800 but i'm having a terrible time keeping it engaged. It regularly drops off for no apparent reason and it will not re-engage unless I make an adjustment to the physical throttles. The nature of the adjustment doesn't matter, a llittle more or a little less and ATC will re-engage for a period but will again drop off after a short period. Makes SID's and STARS a dangerous chore. Any thoughts? Thanks, Eric

Re-flew KBUR.KLAS with full Instument departure and approach with no difficulties. Raised card temp about 6 degrees Cel. when aircraft systems pushed hard but no issues otherwise. I don't know about you but I'm at a loss. If anything else develops I will be back in touch. Eric

Loaded PMDG NGX then RC, then MCE. Everything working fine for 5 or 6 minutes then I get a message that "MCE has encountered a problem and is shutting down". No further explanation. Happens repeatedly but so far only with NGX. Any similar difficulties? Thanks, Eric

Decent jet but "access" to their support forum is maddening. I have provided IRIS with the relevant purchase info. twice but when I try to get to the forum, I'm told that page is not available and that I have no right to access it anyway. I want to re-install my MD-11 following bigger problems elsewhere. The original order was placed by Louise Olson and the order id was 117582 however installation will not validate the effort. I don't seem to be able to contact you for assistance. Thanks Eric

I can only respond by saying that I don't have anything to "turn on". I start FSX, pick an aircraft and fly. In the first instance KSEA was fine, in the next it wasn't. Whatever is at the root of things, it has affected only that specific airport. So it sounds like the solution is "don't use that airport". I can live with that but it surprises me that there doesn't seem to be any way of diagnosing the problem and solving the issue.

Good points Art. As an old Grandpa type I forget the important details. The sim is FSX and my system is Windows7 64 bit. At KSEA runways and taxiways have disappeared in part or in total. If I view the airport from overhead and sufficiently zoomed out, it all appears quite normal but as I zoom in Runway 34 is suddenly about 100 yards long broken by "ground cover" then picks up again and runs to the end of the strip. Viewed from the aircraft I see odd shapes, the occasional building but it's a little like looking into a fractured mirror. I haven't added or changed anything since I last flew out of KSEA and everything was fine at that point. If a picture would help, let me know. I think that I can do that. Thanks for the reply, Eric

I'm embarassed to bring this up again but I cannot make the Ctrl-Shift-; function Save as I think it should. I use the technique with FSX running (OS Windows 7) but I'll be damned if I can find and re-load that file. If you are tired of anwering the same question, just point me to the thread where I can find the answer. Thanks, Eric

It used to bother me to look like an idiot but I'm so old I'm getting used to it. I worked through all of the suggestions above, including the MCE ATC file. In my case the key seems to have been to speak the phrase "Get Radar Contact Info" or " Synch radar contact". I received a reply that MCE had gathered the required information from RC. That was the first indication ever that indicated MCE and RC were working together. Now it seems only to be a matter of using the required RC phraseology. A clearance delivery request to RC produced a proper response but it took 15 or 20 seconds of dead silence before the clearance came through. Hope this helps somebody. I can not get MCE to work properly with RC. They are up to date and run compatibly but no matter what I do, I can't get RC to respond to a properly formatted clearance request or anything else for that matter. RC will respond to a command like "ATC 1" to select an RC request or acknowledgement from the canned list but that's it. Anybody solved this issue yet?

This will sound ridiculously simple to most of you....I was entering the route for Tutorial 2 NGX but missed an airway so I went back to insert it but couldn't. Same issue with waypoints and I couldn't delete discontinuities. How the hell do I modify routes or legs? Sounds stupid but at my age I'm getting use to it. Thanks guys Grandpa

Hi again Zach,I will do just as you have said but I wanted to let you know that when I tried to install the 6/700 updaet I was told that no version of PMDG 737 6700 NGX RTM is installed on my computer. Is the 6700 expansion version a separate progrm needing to be purchased? I think that my assumption that the 6700 was an extension as part of the original purchase. Hello Gents, Because of serious problems with FSX, I was forced to wipe the drive so I took the opportunity to instal the 64 bit version which comes with a pre-installed SP1 of its own. Do I still need to load the SP1 and 2 we have used forever? Thanks,Granddpa

Thanks Jim. I have a computer guy who has my computer and working the problem but he is not FSX savvy so I don't have much faith that he will sort it. I will pass your suggestions on to him. If the issue isn't solved using your ideas I guess I have to wipe the drive and re-build everything. So discouraging that so many people have the same problem but nobody has a clear solution. Different people have suggested different "fixes" and once in awhile something works for somebody. I have tried them all but no success. Since I uninstalled and reinstalled FSX, do I have to reinstall SP1 and. 2?
