November 19, 201015 yr I had this problem once, turned out FSX had decided my default sound device was the hdmi output of my gfx card. I manually set it to my headphones and all was well again. Maybe have a play with the sound device settings in the sound menu? Hope you get it sorted
February 7, 201115 yr I have the same problem today. After using my headphones for some times I just lost my atc voices. Everytime I use the headphones I hear everything loud and clear but every time i use the speakers I have no atc sound...any ideas? Also how did you configure your the default soundcard?
February 7, 201115 yr In the settings menu, sound section, you need to change what the default sound output is in the drop down box
February 11, 201115 yr I have the same problem. I hear all sounds except the instructor and ATC. I delete all the FSX and reinstalled (about 2h...) FSX and Aceleration pack and the voices returns, but after some hours the voices disappear. When I ready to install the SP2 I read it's only if you don't have Acceleration Pack, it's true?I need a solution, the missions are very difficult with play and read while. Thanks and regards from Barcelona.

John Rig: Gigabyte B550 AORUS Master Motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT CPU, 32GB DDR4 Ram, Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Graphics, Samsung Odyssey wide view display (5120 x 1440 pixels) with VSYNC on.
February 11, 201115 yr Yup, the acceleration pack includes SP2.Thank you yellowjack. But with SP1 and Acceleration Pack the problem persists. I'm desperate :(
February 14, 201115 yr I find a solution:Go to setting for Sound and move the slider for voices up and down (just a tad). When you come out of it, the sounds of ATC and instructor are back again.cheers
April 13, 201115 yr Your solution didn't work for me, I found a different one. I'm on Windows 7 32 bits.1. Right-click on the "speakers" icon on the right side of the taskbar (notification area)2. Playback devices: I had "Speakers" + 1 more (a Realtek device, I don't exactly remember)3. I removed this second device. Now it works. Hope it helps.

Hope it helps.Guys I've had this problem before and I did manage to fix it. You won't believe it but it's popped up with me again and for the life of me I can't remember the fix.I do know the cause though and it's fsx.cfg, I'm currently googling to see if I can find somewhere where I explained what to do.Anyway if you do a full reinstall take a copy of fsx.cfg and take note of the entries {PrimaryDevice} and directly underneat {VoiceDevice} because when you lose ATC these values get changed and you need to restore the original.I just can't remember what the values need to be.If someone has a clean install of fsx can they please post those values here, because that will fisx it.
May 3, 201115 yr I solved this (Win 7 64bit) just checking my Speakers as primary comunication device by clicking "Set as default comunications device".Hope this will help.
