GoFlight Module install into FSX

Featured Replies

I have installed FSX (without any SP's so far) into Win 7, so far I have also installed FSUIPC (install worked OK that that leads me to believe that SimConnect installed OK?) Plugged the USB in for my GoFlight module (GF 166A VRP), then went to their website and downloaded the latest drivers (.20) and installed them- the setup menu came up fine. Ran FSX, was prompted to allow the GF module to run, but no communication between the GF module and FSX.From what I have read there are some possible solutions:1.http://www.goflightinc.com/ShowThread.aspx?ID=2This thread indicates that the GF module may not even work with Win7 (64), or that the binding between GF and FSX is not functional so I need to manually run GFDevFSX.exe before running FSX.2. Considering the latter, I made a shortcut to GFDevFSX.exe, but et the error:"This application failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect". I'm not sure what this is telling me, when I googled it I didn't get an answer that I understood as far a what it means and how to over-ride it.Finally, I recall from the XP days when I installed GF stuff that there was an issue that SimConnect.dll wasn't correctly installed, and the solution was to delete the "Windows\x86_......." folder and do a Repair from the FSX DVD, however whenever I recall that being an issue I also could not install FSUIPC, which is working OK at the moment (the installer would detect that the SimConnect.dll module was npt installed correctly). Has anyone else come across this GF issue in Win7 (64)? Maybe it's correct - the comments that I read that it won;t work in this OS.Thanks, Bruce.

Thanks mad dog,I will take a look at this. I have also heard that issues are possible with the installation of SimConnect.dll (I can see the file in the respective folder in Win 7), that can cause this issue, although I don;t know how to verify that it is installed correctly. Anyway, I will certainly check on this script, thanks. Bruce.

Do you have Win 7 Geof, and if so, do you get the "side-by-side" error when running the GF manually? Thanks, Bruce.
