FSX Blocky Thermals?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys, I downloaded some Thermals for Gliding...."FSX/2004/FS2002 Whole New Mexico ,Soaring Scenery. This file adds thermals lifts to glider

There is an option to select how Thermals are displayed in your Settings/Customize/Weather dialogue.Look for the Thermal Visualization drop down box. The choices are None, Natural and Schematic. As far as I know, this only affects how they are "seen".This recent thread may also be usful:http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=291990&hl=Hope that helps.

Ok I tried those options and I still have the blocky Thermals. When I disable the Thermal New mexico or Montana in my addon scenery and use the Schematic option I see the nice green thermal spirals. For some reason this addon Package Thermals of New Mexico and Montana show up as blocky graphics?Uly

Are you using a dx10 preview mode - might not be compatible with this.

Hello Uly,Those thermal packages are not compatible with FSX, in fact, they are not even compatible with FS 9 and will eliminate all autogen on the ground.Best regards.Luis

You might want to have a look at cumulusX! which provides thermal activity based on current weather, location, and time of day.http://www.luerkens.homepage.t-online.de/peter/scott s..
