Red/brown ground textures at coast etc...

Featured Replies

Hi..The last week I got this problem:Some textures close to coasts and wirepaths are now red/brown...Does anyone know which texture this is, so that I can replace it with the original from FS9 CDs? I guess the texture was changed in the "world scenery" folder sometime during the installation of one of the following freeware sceneries:FACT, FAJS, LIMC, Tioman (Malaysia) or JakartaHere´s what the texture looks like outside KSEA:redcoast.jpgredcoast2.jpgAny help much appreciated!/Johan

FS uses what's called a mask to blend the edges of two textures together. I believe they are also used for power line corridors, which is what I see in shot #2. These mask are long, narrow textures and I think are the cause of your problem. They are located in Scenery\World\texture and there are about 300 of them.Unfortunately I don't know much about them and can't find any reference to them at all in the SDK, so determining which file(s) need to be changed is difficult. If you search Scenery\World\texture for *2m*.bmp you can see them listed. If you want to replace yours with the originals they are located on disc #4 in Scenery\World.cab.You might look at those addons to see if they included any files that match the search parameter before replacing all 300 of them.If you have non-default ground textures, such as GE Pro or similar, they may have changed the masks to something different than default. So you may need to re-install those instead.Hope this helps.regards,Joe
