August 9, 201015 yr Hi, I'm looking for a good monitor for FSX, 24"-28". My office computer needs a new one so I'm replacing it with my current flight sim computer monitor, ASUS VW 246h. What kinds are you using and how well pleased are you them? My night views in FSX currently show bad colors in night sky and on aircraft panels. Tried everything possible to fix on monitor, updates and nvidea graphics to correct, no luck. Thanks. Windows 7 480GTX 980 Hex Core OC4.2
August 10, 201015 yr Here I go with the bottom of the price range. Two cheapos that work well with FS9.Very similar except:One has 2MS and the other 5ms response time, but probably hard to tell the difference in performance when looking at them (from what I'm told).BUT one has almost no direction adjustability. The other tilts in two directions (up down/right left) AND raises and lowers straight up and down and locks in place.http://www.amazon.com/Acer-H243H-bmid-24-Inch-Widescreen/dp/B001MTYX10/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1281399329&sr=1-1http://www.amazon.com/Acer-S243HL-bmii-24-Inch-Widescreen/dp/B002T9DUMK/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1281399329&sr=1-2OK, so you're probably not liking these two, BUT it illustrates some points:Monitors can have only slightly different model numbers and be completely different.Amazon is good for review reading, even if the reviewers aren't flightsimers.Tilt and raise/lower are not performance features, but they might be important to not forget about. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
August 10, 201015 yr Author Thanks Fielder for the info. I'll study these two along with two others I'm lokking at. I'd have to be sure they would work well with FSX.
August 10, 201015 yr I'm looking at the new 27" HP on Amazon is under $400.But it has a high gloss screen (lots of reflections), not a matte screen.I wonder if anyone reading this can suggest which is better for TrackIR: glossy or matte? 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. August 11, 201015 yr Thanks, I'll scratch glossy screen displays from my list.I learned yesterday's shopping research was that IPS display technology was superior to the normal TN displays that most monitors are using, for instance for CAD work.I learned today is that IPS displays are wonderful unless something is moving on the screen, ghosting will be less with the common TN display monitor.e.g.: this forum thread:http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1538630I'm trying to learn before buying :) 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
