ATC strange behavior

Featured Replies

HiJust a small question, I started to experience strange results from the ATC, when i am getting the approach instruction (in which I use all the time) suddenly I started to get a VFR instructions only, when I try to select different approach or runway there are no IFR at the menus any more !! they simply disappeared ? tried to restart FSX and it's the same, at same day I installed a payware scenery and a freeware one dont know if this was the reason? I have been using the system for month and nothing ever happened ( at flight planning I always select IFR).Could you help me if you can with that ?I do appreciate your helpBest regardsAlaa RiadWindows 7, 64 - 4MB of ram, Quad cure processor 2.14 and GeForce 9500gs 1/2 mega of ram

You really haven't given a lot of information to help you like what airport, prevailing winds, flightplan, etc. One thing to check though is be sure where ever you were flying actually has instrument approaches in FSX (just because it does in real life doesn't mean the FSX AFCAD does). You won't get any ILS options if the AFCAD doesn't have them. This can also be an issue if you recently changed the AFCAD for your airport, even for something completely unrelated like parking-this has been known on certain sceneries to mess up the ILS approaches.

Hi ,Thank you for your reply, The flight I made was from HEAX (Alexandria, Egypt) to HESH (Sharm Elshiekh), with new scenery at HESH just installed, this kind of trip I did 100s of times, the new thing here was that close to HESH, the ATC just gave me VFR on runway 4L instructions, usually 95% chance that the ATC would give IFR for the same runway, what really amazed me is through the ATC menu by selecting the different approach usually I can select another runway whether IFR or VFR, at two times on the row there was no IFR available for any runway they just disappeared from the menu, only available instructions was VFR only for all runways all directions (which was unusual) and no IFRIs it possible that the ATC engine was corrupted in any way ? Is there a way to fix ?Thank you very muchAlaa Riad
