Can't save RCD's

Featured Replies

Well gents even wiith your help I can't seem to save the RC file in the middle of a flight. I have the path to save set up. When I press the semi-colon I get the expected window. I enter the name of the flight and press OK. However when I return to the Saved RCD files, the file that I thought I saved isn't there so there is nothing to retrieve. I think that I am following the manual correctly but I've obviously got it wrong. I am using FSX and Windows 7...can you give me any help??Thanks again,Eric

From what I read here you are saving only a flight by the normal FSX (FS-9) method. You need to save the flight by clicking the C/S & semicolon. That is hold down the control and shift keys and simultaneously press the semicolon key, assign the name and continue. Make sure you have designated a path for the flie to follow. I usually put mine in the saved flights folder that FSX (FS-9) generates in your documents.

pressing ; will also save a .rcdmake sure you have clicked the.flt/.wx button, and entered the path where fsx is storing the .flt and .wx files. that's where rcd files will be writtenjd

JD,I also have just experienced the same problem. Up until yesterday I have had no save issues at all. I use the C+S+; method and have always been able to start a saved flt by loading the rcd file. Now no rcd file is generated. I get an .FLT .FSSAVE and a .WX file at the time I save my flt and the RC window shows that the save has been made, but there is no .rcd file. The only changes to my system in the last few days have been a new monitor and the install of SKYPE but no change to FSX at all. I have just tried a test flt and this time an .rcd file was generated but why on two previous occasions it wasn't saved?Russell
