Realistic headset sound

Featured Replies

Hi, all.Firstly, GREAT product! And Im a great fan of developers who listen for requests from the customers. I am a novice FS2Crew user and maybe I have missed out on something, but is there a way to hear your FO like he was actually talking into a crew mic? Aircrews actually use their microphones for internal communication, you know :( Sound carried in the audio system in cockpits (and telephones..) attenuates frequencies outside the range of 1kHz-5kHz since they are not important in understanding the human voice. The default MSFS ATC voice sounds something similar. I would like the same effect in FS2Crew :( I suppose I could take the associated files into my Pro Tools and edit them with an EQ or plug-in. I could even add some static hash because audio in the cockpit often gets flavoured by internal power busses resulting in the humming of some low-level Hz. But the best would be to have this done by FS2Crew, like a filter running in the program. While I am at it: Somehow I was under the impression that FS2Crew divided between what was spoken through mic's in the cockpit and not. My audio is now routed giving me ATC in my PC headset and all other sounds through main PC speakers. Should'nt I get the FO also in my headset and not main speakers? I tried various settings in the config panel but have'nt had any luck yet.best regards

Hi Bernt,To get the FS2Crew FO audio (like Checklists, etc) to go through your headset, you need to press "HS" on the FS2Crew Main Panel, and you must select the audio device associated with your Headset on the FS2Crew CFG panel in the Audio Device window. You probably have more than one device on your computer, so you need to select it. Use the left/right mouse buttons.Note that note "all" FO audio will go through the Headset... some will go through the main speakers (namely, items were you would not be wearing your headset).Cheers,
