FS 9 major problem (please help)

Featured Replies

I have fs9 installed on my computer. I am running windows 7 64 bit on a Pentium I7 920. I have a ton of addon scenery and aircraft. I mostly fly PMGD 737's and 747. I have my FPS leveled at 50 FPS, and has been running pretty smoothly. I recently added a few freeware aircraft and after that I started to get all kinds of problems. First it was my joysticks. I have a CH Flightsim Yoke and pedals, and the CH throttle quadrant. All of them setup and calibrated within FSUIPC, and the joysticks disabled under FS9. The first issue was when I plugged in the throttle my sideways spot vie of the aircraft moved to top down as in looking at the plane from above. If I am ion cockpit view it moved to the upper left ceiling area, and I cannot display the panel anymore. If I unplug the CH throttle the views go back to normal, but I dont have throttlles, gear, flaps, spoiler, etc everyhing that I had configured with that.An ;astly the worst problem is that every time I started the simulator it starts at about 40 something FPS and started to come down to the thirties, the twentys, the tens, and then it freezes hen its below 5 FPS. I have tried using a FS standard airport and a default cessna, no add ons and the problem is the same. Its possible that some of my program folders got corrupted by these addon aircrafts? What files do I have to reset? I s there a soultion? Thanks for your helpJuan

first remove the fs9.cfg file to your desktop. start FS. a new cfg file will be crated 'resetting' the game. now test and see how things work.if things work fine, one by one, re-enter your cfg file 'mods/hacks'. test after adding a modification. if you make a mod and have a problem you know the cuase of your issues.another option is the move FSUIPC's config file to your desktop. BE SURE TO CONFIRM YOUR REGISTATION RECORDS SO YOU CAN RE-ACTIVATE THE MODULE. as with the fs9.cfg and the sim, moving the config file will reset the module. if this solves the problem you know you need ot rebuild your FSUIPC settings as the config file became corrupted.--

Thanks for your reply. I can't find a fs9.cfg file in my FS9 folder. Where is it? The only Fs9 file is the "exe" one. ThanksJuan

Hi Juan, you can find the .cfg file at this address: c:\users\NAMEUSER\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FS9NAMEUSER stands for the name of the user you chose.Pay attention, the AppData folder is usually hidden.Bye.

there really needs to be a 'sticky' at the top of the FSX and FS9 forums that reads:where is the FS9.cfg file? (and where is the FSX.cfg file in the FSX forum).fun thing ... you can't search the above phrase as words <4 characters are block by the search engine. a search of 'FS9.cfg' or 'where FS9.cfg' results in 100000000 posts.another fun fact ... the 'FS9.CFG - Care and Maintenance' sticky is in the FSX forum. AND the text of 'how to care and maintain' doesn't explain how to find the cfg file!---
