August 18, 201015 yr Hello,I was flying tutorial flight with J41 and did a search on the forum, but I still have few questions regarding FMS:1) AOM page 112 states that to enter the active flight plan into the TRIP PLAN page I should select the TRIP PLAN field with the line select keys and INSERT “A”. However I was not able to enter anything on this FMS page. It seems that active plan is already inserted by default. So I don't know if I overlooked something or if manual is not correct.2) On the very same page (TRIP PLAN) I can see field called "ETA @ KIAD" with value "19:60". Please see attached picture. Shouldn't it be 20:00 aleardy? :-) Is this a known bug?3) During the flight NAV page 2/4 is telling me that my fuel at KIAD will be 0. I would expect to see there at least 800 (reserve which was put during FMS initialization). Does it work for you? Or did I miss something during FMS programming? Thanks.Martin Kitka
August 18, 201015 yr @1: I have no idea, maybe it's one of disabled functions like e.g. HOLD? Someone more clever is required here.@2: I don't have 19:60, maybe my AOM is some updated version. @ 3:The calculation is based on current fuel flow, so if You are ascending it will show 0, when You will stabilize Your aircraft at cruise speed and altitude it will show correct value. The difference is compensated at descend.
August 22, 201015 yr Author Hello GrzegorzThanks for replies, nice to see a "neighbour" here;-)1) It really does not seem to be implemented. The problem is that unlike HOLD function this one is described in the AOM. Seems that PMDG did not make very "precision manual" this time :-)2) I did not mean AOM page, I meant FMS page (TRIP PLAN) , where I noticed that ETA is showing little nonsense. Hopefully this time attached image will make it through. 3) You are right, it started to show correct value during the decent. I initially thought that it is little more clever and will somehow consider climb and cruise phase as well in calculations.Martin Kitka (LZIB)
August 22, 201015 yr Hi Martin, now I get it (ehh, my English...), unfortunately I can't check it because I have deleted default flight plan, and I can't reinstall my J41 because my CD drive is broken...Cheers.
August 22, 201015 yr (ehh, my English...)Could you please shut up about how bad your english is? You speak (ok type) better english than half the Americans on this site :( i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier

August 29, 201015 yr 1) AOM page 112 states that to enter the active flight plan into the TRIP PLAN page I should select the TRIP PLAN field with the line select keys and INSERT “A”. However I was >not able to enter anything on this FMS page. It seems that active plan is already inserted by default. So I don't know if I overlooked something or if manual is not correct. The manual would be incorrect in this case. The Trip Plan page in this version of the J41 is informational only.2) On the very same page (TRIP PLAN) I can see field called "ETA @ KIAD" with value "19:60". Please see attached picture. Shouldn't it be 20:00 aleardy? :-) Is this a known bug?We were made aware of it a while back in an earlier thread and addressed the issue for SP2.3) During the flight NAV page 2/4 is telling me that my fuel at KIAD will be 0. I would expect to see there at least 800 (reserve which was put during FMS initialization). Does >it work for you? Or did I miss something during FMS programming? The reserve fuel is not in addition to the overall remaining fuel, it is part of it.So if it reads less than your reserve fuel (800) , that would then mean you may need to use part of your reserve fuel. But keep in mind its based on your current fuel flow, so at high fuel usage points (ex climb) its not going tobe very usefull as you clearly won't be at that fuel flow the majority of the flight.Regards.Ernie.
