August 19, 201015 yr Is there a chart available that will give the correct flap settings for take off? This chart needs to take into effect runway length, aircraft weight, and temperature. Thanks,Bill Bridges I Earned My Spurs in Vietnam
August 19, 201015 yr HiI use the topcat programme and it will give you the best flap setting for the runway you will take off on. It will also work out the correct flex temp. You have to tell the programme your take off weight, wind strength and direction. air temperature and QNH. The datebase contains details of the airport and runway you are using. You can also use it for the PMDG 747. The prog is often updated so I wouldn't be surprised if they will update it to include the PMDG 737 (once it's out)RegardsNick Regards Nixon Thomas
August 19, 201015 yr I am pretty sure that the SOP for many airlines with MD-11 is to always take off with flaps 22, and just adjust flex for runway length, alt and temp. This makes take-off calculations easier by reducing the number of variables. Paul Smith.
