August 22, 201015 yr Im wondering if there is any way to remove the trim sound file, the WAV. file that is.I think if I just delete it i will get error messages when i trim as it will be looking for the file. But what if I record a wav file of nothing and name it the same as the trim wav. and replace it would it work??Or is there an easier way to do this? I know that we should be looking for realism but that that noise when you are trimming is just awful.thanks Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
August 22, 201015 yr Full names here please, Gerry.Move the sound file to a new folder and test it, there is no easier way than that. It shouldn't toss any errors but if it does, simply restore it.If by chance it does error out, then you can either go through all the other sound files and just make a duplicate of one and rename it, or better yet if you have a sound editor program you could just turn the decibels down until you can't hear it. Just make sure to save it in the same format, I believe it's 8bit mono, wav but could be wrong. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
August 22, 201015 yr Author ooppss sorry, i dont post here much and i beleive this is the only one where full names are required so i keep forgeting. (p.s out of curiosity, why full names???)Thanks for your reply, you are probably right with your suggestion about just removing the file and seein what happens, ill give it a try and see what happensThanks again for your quick response.Gerry Soulliere Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
August 22, 201015 yr No problem Gerry, hope it works out for you.As for why the full names, there are two reasons that I know of. One is just to keep things more cordial and personal, it creates a better atmosphere. This is the main reason. The other reason is actually to help faster support. For instance, Jim Smith posts a question of his problem or abnormality with a product, full name can help support look up his order, verify purcahse (verify support as well I suppose) and look up any tickets that the person may have open about the issue. What I see all the time (not in your case), is someone will post a problem, then after several of us hopeful helpfuls fail to resolve their issue, we will recommend they open a ticket with the PMDG support portal. They then say they have already done so, but no way to put the person with the ticket or issue. Basically they could have been helped earlier. The more common one that I see lately is problems with download links and not getting emails due to spam blockers. They want their extended download but again no way to track the orders.Of course you can read more about it here. Personally I like that it keeps things more personal and feels more professional. It's weird now when in other forums someone answers me to "Hi Turbine777", and at the same time I hate having to type out "Hi Wreckingball3675309" haha. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier

August 23, 201015 yr Author For any one else wondering if it is possible, if you remove the wav. files the sim crashes, so im going to have to figure out a way to modify this file.Gerry Soulliere Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
August 23, 201015 yr Gerry if you are using xp you can always go to accessories/sound recorder and lower the volume of the file you want so that it is inaudible,or if using other operating systems there are free applications that will do the same, hope that helps.regards Jim
