September 9, 201015 yr Guys,I have LLBG 2006, a really good scenery that I use in conjunction with Tel Aviv photoreal and thus have a great experience upon arriving at LLBG. However, there is this problem that has always been there: I always am told to land at runway 30. From all times I have landed in real life at LLBG (must be over 20 times), we have landed on runway 30 only 3 or 4 times. Looking at the charts, I see lead-in lights at runway 12 and 26, and indeed, we have always landed most often at runway 12. I know that in PFE you can close down one end of a runway, so that PFE will never send you to land there. That way I can ensure I will not land at 30, but at 12 or 26. I was wondering however if there's another way to do this, such that AI will also rarely use runway 30, because it simply isn't very realistic...Anybody any ideas? September 10, 201015 yr Author Aren't there at least any people from Israel with the same problem that have fixed it some way? September 10, 201015 yr Hi Benjamin,You can also try entering some soft south wind (say 6 kts at 180º) when starting your flight in FS.That should take RWY-30 out of service. signed: José Luis
September 10, 201015 yr I tried fixing this with a tweaked AFCAD file some time ago but it just wouldn't work and I ended up going back to the original one. It is an excellent scenery, even though it's a bit dated now. Hope someone can come up with a fix - perhaps one of our Israeli friends?
September 10, 201015 yr This problem occurs at airports where the take-offs and landings change on the opposite ends of the runways. (if that makes any sense!) In Ben Gurion's case you can use separate afcad files according to the winds. Alternatively, tie the runways so you have both of them in use and ask for the appropriate one during departure or arrival. I favor the 2nd method as I don't really care which runways my AI use. If however you want the most realistic usage the only way I can think of is separate AF2 files...Maybe someone has a better idea...? :( Onur K. Visit my FS blog: Clear Right...
September 10, 201015 yr Author Yes, this is what I feared, that in principle there is no way to make it more realistic. I can only hope the AI/AFCAD system will be revamped for MS Flight. In the meantime I'll simply tell PFE not to assign me to that runway, I guess. Thanks, guys, for your input!
