Controller Rate of speech

Featured Replies

Hi All Got a question. Is there any way of changing the Rate of Speech of the controller when they give you a clearence or give you weather conditions etc. I find that the controllers are speaking too rapidly. Thanks for your help.Harry

Hi Harry, I don't think you can control the speed... One thing that may help - is pick and choose the controllers and only enable those that are most clear to you... I think the default RC4.3 is rather slow compared to the real world... Try flying in and around NY's class Bravo... I use the "Meatwater" mod which I feel is a big improvement - however - I think that speeds things up... One thing that really helps in both the real world and FS is kind of knowing and expecting what is going to be said... One of the best ways to do this is to listen to live ATC broadcasts for a while to gain familiarity with how controllers talk... I love http://www.liveatc.net/ - I just tune it in at work and let it play in the background - while I'm working... Regards,Scott

on the voices page, you will see sliders to control the pace of speech. all i'm doing is inserting dead air between words and phrases. but, with the sliders all the way to the left, it's pretty realistic if not too slow.jd

JD and ScottThanks. That did the trick. Harry

And that one answered my question too... Prehaps the function of the sliders should be added to the manual. In the V4.3 manual on the webpage the sliders aren't even in the screenshot of the voices tab....
