September 24, 201015 yr I do not really trust reloads and always start from the beginning.I finally managed to land without getting the "terrain, pull up" message. The key seems to be that the IAS speed has to be lowered to 150 and the white IAS knob to be pushed.Only then will thespeed reduce making a landing possible. The tutorial does not mention this, may be because it is so obvious. Now it is time to study the manuals.Hubert WerniHubert,Happy you made it all the way to landing.Regards,Harry
September 25, 201015 yr I have had this happen only when I reloaded a saved flight (usually on decent) during approach practice. Somehow it doesn't reload properly and the aircrafts flight management isn't in the landing phase/mode so the GPWS goes bonkers even with everything setup as normal.During flights I depart, cruise and land without loading I have never seen this though.Hello,I read the thread and saw your screenshot. I notice you are a bit fast comming into the runway. What I do is when I get to around 11000ft or so the plane slows to get to the speed restriction at 10000 feet I will usually put out some speed brakes to slow it down. Once my speed is stable I will let the plane stabilize and descend to around 9500 ft or so. At this point I drop flaps 15 this drops the speed down to around 180. It takes awhile for the plane to slow all the way down but i find that if I time it this way the plane is right at around 180 when I capture the LOC and G/S. Once established on Loc and G/S with speed stable its just a real simple gear down set landing flap and ride the slide down to the runway. I found in this plane timing with the flaps is really important in controlling speed on approach. If you stabilize the plane before you are on final it makes the final and landing easy. I hope this helps.Guthrie Zuehlke
