September 22, 200322 yr Hi Chris,Thanks for your sharing your experiences and tips! However, non of these helped my case :-(.I looked in my BIOS, changed the AGP apperture size to 256MB instead of 128. I enabled 2 options for enhancing the AGP write/read operations. After that I rebooted my machine and this is the result:http://users.pandora.be/vital.vanbeginne/i...o2Dpanelfix.jpghttp://users.pandora.be/vital.vanbeginne/i.../2Dpanelfix.jpgStrange hein?? September 22, 200322 yr Thank you for your ideas.....Wolfgang: I think there are some strange 'cloud issues' as described in my first posting on this thread. However, the clouds do not explain anything (except that usually you have lower fps with clouds present), as all the guys who have this problem also say that the downgrading occurs when there are absolutely no clouds around (clear weather).I have the lower Fps with all default panels. There seems to be no difference as regards to complexity of the panels. Also: I would not touch the subject if the difference with the panel in view would be something like 2-5 fps, however, the fps on my system are something like 50-60% compared to all the other views and that seems to be way too much.It is also very strange that I can have something like 24 fps in the spot view (looking at my aircraft, with airport buildings, AI-aircraft, autogen scenery in sight) and as soon as I switch into the cockpit view (with the panel, but no buildings and no AI-aircraft in view) I have only 14 fps.Walter
September 22, 200322 yr Turn _off_ 'Render to Texture" in the Hardware tab of display settings. After experimenting, with the various settings, that one had the largest positive impact on 2d panel FR.Also, Chris' excellent clouds are a must under any circumstances IMO.HTH,
September 22, 200322 yr Thanks for your suggestions....but as mentioned above I really have tried all the tweaks- render to texture is "off"- I was one of the first to download and install Chris' cloudsAs I said already, all this tweaks have incresed fps on my system, however, they do not change the fact that in 2D Panel view the fps are only about 50%-60% of the other views. It's really strange..Walter
