October 10, 201015 yr The 980x seems like extreme waste. You dont see any performance difference in FSX compared to say the now ancient i7 920 clocked at the same clock frequency. But if you have the money and have other uses for such a cpu than flying simulators then go ahead. There's also something to be said for the tech factor too. The higher the tech, the higher the satisfaction :D But from a financial point of view such a cpu does not make much sense

The I7's seem so easy and willing, my 930 overclocked to 4ghz first attempt and was stable for 24 hours in prime95, compared to my old Q6600 which spat at me at every attempt to overclock!! October 11, 201015 yr Looking at your specs I wouldn't go with an asus board. I would get an evga or gigabyte board...you will much happier with one of those. Steven Penninck
