I second Ken's post. His utility flat out rocks. Nice work, Ken! I find myself using it all the time.

Ok, I have looked under "documents and settings",but I am unable to find "application data" anywhere. I am using XP Pro. This is what I am doing: 1. my computer 2. local disk C: 3. documents and settings. I don't see app. data. I cannot find Fs9.cfg by doing a SEARCH either....this is killing me!!

Thanks for the utility...any ideas or instructions that I can use. Thanks again for the help. I just want to fly again.

Make sure you have "view hidden files" checked in the folder view options. After you find "documents & settings", there should be a folder with the name you chose for your user/system name (such as, "Bob"). The "application data" should be inside that folder. Then there should be a "microsoft" folder inside that one. When you find fs9.cfg (sorry, I originally wrote fs9.exe!), just delete it.You might also setup a desktop shortcut to fs9.cfg since there are lots of tweaks you can make there.

Ok, I found and deleted the FS9.cfg file. No success. I can fly CFS3 maxxed on all the settings without a problem. I have DX9b installed....is that a problem? I dont know what else to do. ANy ideas on what drivers I should try. I have nvidia 45.23 running for my 4600ti 128. All of my other programs run just fine.

Two things I can suggest.(1) Try running FS9 under the clean boot method. This will turn off all unnecessary processes running in the background. If the stutters go away, then some background process on your system must be interfering. If you have Windows XP, the clean boot is described under Microsoft Knowledge Document 310353 on their website. If you don't have Windows XP you may have to search the MS knowledge base for your OS instructions.(2) If you are using the FSUIPC module, remove it from your FS modules folder and see if that is the cure. Many reports of FSUIPC causing stutters.I am using driver 45.33 from the guru3d.com site. It removes the flickers from 5900 ultra cards. One more suggestion. If you find the clean boot instructions for your OS, you can uninstall FS9 and then reinstall while in the clean boot mode. Maybe your installation was corrupted by a background process, such as an antivirus program running hidden in the background.Sorry nothing has worked.

Thanks Dr. I will try all of your suggestions... this is such a pain. hopefully I will be flying again soon. Thanks again.

I found the problem. I have Microsoft's SIdewinder Force Feedback Pro hooked up. The problem, and I was unaware that I did it, was when force feedback is selected in the controls menu, DO NOT have ground bumps enabled. That is where the problem was. WOW. That was easy, but whoa how frustrating. THANKS again to all the people who helped me figure out and solve this problem. You guys are what make the flight sim community a great one to be in. Thanks again.
