I'm Thinking of Getting a MAC

Featured Replies

This thread is completely and utterly stupid. Some of the comments written on this are so ignorant, I can't believe people actually said them. 1: All these people claiming that Mac hardware is as good a quality as home built, what would you rather? Mushkin redline ram, or some generic high latency, slow ram not suited to the system. 2: As for warranty, have you ever heard of a parts warranty. Mushkin ram comes with a lifetime warranty, same with corsair, coolermaster PSUs, antec/corsair/coolermaster cases. Majority of high quality components come with min. 5 year warranties. Many have lifetime. If you can link me to a mac with a warranty above 3 years, without 10,000 terms and conditions, be my guest. 3: "Mac is better for everyday use and work. Mac has less tech issues...". BULL ######. Don't delete this because it's true. Truthfully, I'm a Stock broker in Australia, and have been for 2+ years now (I'm 24). When I first started my job, I got an office with an iMac. I didn't like it. When the new range got released, everyone got a 27" iMac fully specd up, as per my request I got a $3500 spending budget. I got to build my own computer for work, because I disliked Mac so much. A horrible OS to use. The thing kept overheating, couldn't be OCd, and I faced many freezes and other software issues. As for less tech issues, I spoke to the office IT manager, he said he's never been so busy in all his life since the company got the new iMacs. Apart from the IT manager and I, everyone else has a Mac, and we are the only 2 not complaining about their computer. Put it this way, AU$3500 you get what? A mid-high specd 27" iMac. Mine is sitting at my office, with 4 screens attached to it (ATI Eyefinity + 40" TV for presentations etc). How many iMacs can do that? None. The specs?I7 950 @ 4GHz (iMac impossible)12GB DDR3 1600MHz C6 Mushking redline (iMac impossible)2x ATI 5870 CrossfireX (iMac impossible)1200W CM Silent Pro Gold PSU (iMac impossible)Gigabyte X58-UD5 mobo (iMac impossible)1x 120GB SSD for OS3x 600GB Vrap (iMac impossible)If you could get an iMac with those exact parts, it would probably cost $8000+.And Virtuali, not everyone on these forums can afford an EXTREMELY overpriced Mac Pro. I don't see why you bothered anyways, all you do is make a FSX module that stuffs up half your other addons because you are so obsessed about piracy. Seriously, I don't even use your scenery anymore because I had issues with other addons after installing that "addon manager". And what's worse? Your forums are full of people with issues, and you tell them that it's not your program, it's their system. Great customer service.

I quote you Chris and I'm a MAC user...

I don't blame you. I'm not against apple. In fact, as per my signature, I love the iPhone 4 and ipad. Adore them. I've had every iPhone to date. But their computers don't work for me.
