October 17, 201015 yr Hey guys. I was wondering if someone can help me out here. I love flying the PMDG 747F but recently I've recently made a flight from YSSY (Sydney) to OMDB (Dubai) and its 6522 nm. The planes maximum range is like 7300 homever when I make all my tanks 100% it still tells me on the FMC that I have insufficient fuel. What gives? Help? Thank you! Janusz Wozniak

The planes maximum range is like 7300 homever when I make all my tanks 100% it still tells me on the FMC that I have insufficient fuel. What gives? Help? Thank you! What amount of reserve fuel have you entered in the FMC?If you load 170 tons of fuel because you calculate to burn 150 in your flight, but you set a reserve of 25, of course you have enough fuel for the jump, but you will land with only 20 tons left, not 25, so the FMC will give you a caution message: "your fuel is INSUFFICIENT if you want to arrive with that reserve quantity". signed: José Luis
October 17, 201015 yr A way around it (not very realistic of course) is to leave the FMC Res entry empty or on very low level (like 00.1) for example. It does not influence your fuel use and is mainly for reminding you of low fuel level, so as long as you do smart fuel planning, it won't bother you with the alert.

October 17, 201015 yr Basa in my reserves I entered 15. Is that too much? And dzieki Rafal :)If a 744 burns (grosso modo) between 9.000 and 11.000 Kg per hour, I think 15 tons is a good number to manage any contingency. signed: José Luis
