September 26, 200322 yr Hi fellow flight simmers i amminterested in knowing what some of your favorite approaches are. I have tried many of the ones avaiable at the Dangerous airports web site but i am sure that there are many more just as interesting if not quite as dangerous so please feel free to give me some to try out!!
September 26, 200322 yr I've always loved the approaches into Covington (Cincy) because of the river there.... Second on my list has to be San Diego...always fun :)

September 27, 200322 yr SESM - This airport is always fun in FS. Will need a very powerful plane though, you'll see why when you load it up LOL. It is possible to take off and land, but its hard. I hope the real airport isnt like that LOL.
September 27, 200322 yr I just finished a 1000 mi. flight from the KSMF to KLBF. Nice and peaceful. Flew the Legacy. 4 1/2 hrs at 12,500' (except to climb to 13,500' for a few minutes so as to have safe altitude over the mountains near Elko, NV).Seems simple enough... North Platte is in the flat lands of Nebraska. Nothing around. Light traffic. Until the landing. Winds were 310/25kts, gusting to 35. It was exciting. I floated halfway down 30 before touch down... wanted to minimize the taxi time as much as possible. It was memorable!Greg
September 27, 200322 yr Pretty amazing isn't it! I am using fsgenesis 38 meter mesh plus megascenery. About as real as it can get!http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/Geofdog2.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
September 27, 200322 yr Be sure and try landing at Telluride, Colorado. And be sure and use enough "airplane" or headwind to take-off, or you'll never get airborn.Bob (Lecanto, Fl)AMD, Athlon XP, 1800+MSI, K7T266 XP ProPC 2100 DDR, 1024 MBXP, Home Edition Elsa GLadiac 920, GF3/64Mb andPNY, Verto nVidia TNT 2-M64/32WD, 100 MB, 7200, Ultra 100Sound Blaster, Audigy MP3+CH Prod, VPP Yoke - Sound CardCH Prod, Pedals - Sound Card
September 27, 200322 yr Bob,Yes, you can get off. As a mater of fact, I just took off with full fuel and flaps 10 on a C-172. Don't forget to lean the engine to get the max avaible RPMs.With bigger airplanes it shoudn't be a problem neither.Best,Bruno Francescoli.
September 27, 200322 yr HiCan't believe no one has mentioned one of my favourite approaches :).Localizer 26 into LOWI (Innsbruck), its a great approach and the default scenery and mesh for Innsbruck is good.Do it in something big, in bad weather, a real challengeDan.
September 27, 200322 yr >LPMA funchal madiera, specifically runway 05 but 23 has it's>charms ;)>I just flew a Captain Sim 727-100 into LPMA runway 23 last night after a 1300-mile flight from Gatwick. You're right, that's a fun one, especially when the FS2004 ATC puts you at 3800 feet, right in the middle of a cloud, and you break out of it 2 miles from the airport. :/Circled back out 15 miles from the FUN VOR, turned in again at 2200 feet, managed to get under the cloud, and made a passable visual approach and landing (well, passable for me, unacceptable for anybody else :) ). That is quite a fun one, maybe I'll get to see rwy 05 on takeoff tomorrow. :)I haven't tried the KDCA 19 approaches yet...does FS2004 offset the runway 19 ILS 30-35 degrees to avoid the DC protected airspace like in real life? September 27, 200322 yr Yep, LOWI was one of the ones I was forgetting.Incredibile airport!Departing and arriving is always...interesting ;)JohnP 2.53 GHZ512 RAMWINXPGFORCE 4 128MB Ti4600http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewerhttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg
