October 21, 201015 yr I hope someone can help because this is driving me insane. I have recently started having really bad lagging and stuttering in FS9. When I pan the view round in outside view it doesn't pan smoothly, it skips and jumps as the scenery seems to lag. This is strange because at the same time I am getting good FPS. I have the locked at 50 and am getting 50 pretty much all the time. I have recently changed two things on my system before I noticed the stuttering starting to effect FS9. I got a new Asus GTX460 card and I got the iFly 737. I can't pinpoint when the lagging issue started but I didn't have it before. Then my old ATI 4870 broke and I was without FS for about 3 months. I then got the GTX460 and sometime since then it has started. Please help!Andy Solaini
October 22, 201015 yr Author Thanks for the reply Jim. I've actually already tried that but with no improvement.
October 22, 201015 yr Try reducing your frame rate limiter to 20, fly for a bit and if it's free of stutters up it to 25. Repeat this process until you get stutters or lag and this should be where you cap the frames. Also what's the rest of your system specs? What programs are running in the background?
October 22, 201015 yr I assume that you cleaned the drivers of your defunct Radeon 4870 before you installed the drivers for your new card, but even if you did, I suspectthe stutters are due to change of video drivers on your windows installation. Video drivers are such a sensitive thing, if I have to change the video card for me it means reinstalling everything. Same goes with sound card drivers, often causes lots of problems with FS. Because, graphics and sound both interact with DirectX.
October 22, 201015 yr Just a blind shot here, but don´t you have a Supersampling AA set within ATI CCC? I also had serious problems and after switching to Multi-Sample (or how is it called) they were gone. V
