Nvidia GTX 480 Video Card

Featured Replies

well, I'm running out of ideas, I would maybe try and repair that FSX installation. I know you said it's a fresh FSX install, but still. also service packs/acceleration

My system is: XFX 780i motherboard, cpu is an Intel Q9650 overclocked from 3.0 to 3.6, 8 GB OCZ RAM memory, 1100 watt powersupply, one WD 300 GB Velociraptor hard drive, one DVD rom, four case fans, GTX 480 video card water cooled by Koolance Extos, cpu water cooled with Corsair H70, OS is Windows 7 64 bit. Video card temp is 41, motherboard is 39, cpu is 37.Ron Musick
Might be a long shot Ron, but are you aware of the "uiautomationcore.dll" problem with windows 7 64bit? It will randomly crash your FSX whilst using the menus in fullscreen mode? If not you need to download the vista 64bit version from here http://www.mediafire.com/?mik2mlqdz1w and place it directly into your fsx root directory. Apologies if you are already aware of this!

Well Ron, that will make the 2 of us having same problem.could not understand what could cause it because I started disabling all starting services one by one and all at the same time with no luck, event file is almost exactly identical to what you have posted.please let me know if you find any solution.P.S: problem appeared after I had to reinstall every thing back from scratch due to hard disk failure, I did reinstall (clean, windows 7 64b and fsx with all updates applied) more than once after that just to get rid of this problem with no luck.

Hi Ali,Thanks for your reply. I assume that your system was running fine with your indicated hardware/operating system before the hard drive replacement; is that correct? This thing has me baffled. I am going to try to just fly a plane that came with FSX and see it the problem still presents itself. I will keep you informed, and would appreciate it if you would do the same. Thanks,Ron Musick

You really shouldn't be installing FSX into the program files folder. Win7 and Vista really lock that down security wise, and any addon installed there can have problems installing all files correctly. I would recommend doing something like a c:\Games folder, and FSX inside of that. Also update your bios, run windows update and click the get updates for more microsoft products to see any driver updates and such.

Thanks David, I will certain try installing FSX in a seperate folder. I guess I hadn't thought of that going from Windows XP to Windows 7. All the drivers have been updated already.Ron Musick

  • 2 weeks later...

Ron;I tried several flights with default and advanced aircrafts, FSX will CTD either during flight or on exit, last night I uninstalled Aerosoft Airbus X version 1.21 to install the new version 1.22 but decided to try FSX first, and to my surprise, FSX did no crash, tried it three times in different scenarios and still OK, I need to do a long flight to confirm if problem is fixed or no.regards
