Yippie, the flickering is gone for me, finally! :D

Screen flickers gone here too with these drivers. On the "Options" page of the Omega Control Panel the Catalyst version is shown as : 3.8.5 Beta. 6.14.10.6396. Packaging Version: Dell. DirectX sees the drivers as 2.4.96Also, I've noticed that Omega's SoftMod has worked on my 9700 Pro this time... see's the card as a 9800 (0x4E48). None of his SoftMod drivers has succeeded in doing this before. The only downside on my system is that I now have the 2D Panel framerate hit... approx 30% loss. FR is fine in VC. FR locked at 24.My Omega Direct3D settings (Custom and Quality):AA 4XAF16XTexture Preference.... Full RightMipMap Detail Level... Full RightWait for Vsync and TRUFORM... OffDisplay Section of my FS9.cfg as follows:{DISPLAY.Device.RADEON 9700 PRO (Omega 2.4.96)}<---square bracketsMode=1280x960x32AntiAlias=0TriLinear=1TextureAGP=1 PanelAsTexture=0{DISPLAY.Device.RADEON 9700 PRO (Omega 2.4.96) .0}<---square bracketsMode=1280x960x32AntiAlias=0TriLinear=1TextureAGP=1 PanelAsTexture=0I don't use the Display.cfg on my system... I simply hand edit the driver level in the FS9.cfgSys specs:AMD 2400XP @ 2700ASUS A7N8X Rev 2.0 1005 BIOSATI 9700 Pro @ 350/3301 Gb Corsair XMS 3200Maxtor 40 Gb ATA133 7200RPMSony 52x24x52 CD-RWIomega 100 MB ZipFloppyLian-Li w/ Antec 430W TruePowerOff to take care of that 2D panel framerate hit...

Greg, is changing this setting to this: TextureAGP=0 changes anything performance wise?

Are you getting a 30% fps decrease just because of the new drivers? If that's the case, then I guess I can wait for the new drivers as that is unacceptable, and I can live with the flickering./Mikkel

I can't get any of the files to download off DriverHeaven!! Did they take them down or something? Thanks.

Work great for me. No flicker and perormence all around is indistinguishable from Omega's 3.8. I recommend completely uninstalling old drivers, running driver cleaner, a registry cleaner, deleting old folders, then installing. Keep trying at Driver Heave, there is just alot of demand.

No JeanLUc, what cured the problem was setting "PanelAsTexture" to "1".I tried changing "TextureAGP" to "1" but noticed no change in performance.I did have some slight stutters during early testing (default S.F. Bay area, default 172, "Building Storms" weather @ 3500'). I deleted the backup FS9.cfg (FS9 sure does make alot of backups :-)) and the testing is very smooth. These drivers are are very good... much different than the past Cats. They require some basic changes to the sim set-up. All in all though, they are very good. And no more screen flickering.

Guys,Were on http://www.driverheaven.net are the new drivers?are they the new *NEW* ATI Omega Drivers for Win2k/XP posted on the home page, or do you go to Driver downloads => ATI and pick theCatalyst 3.8 All in one at the top of the page?ThanksPaul

Wow, these drivers finally fixed it. And no performance hit either, rather I think I see better FPS and less stutter. Why on earth does Dell have this fix and the original 3.8 don't? Now all I need is Fanda's Dash-8 and the new German Airports and flying will be fun again!Michael
