November 2, 201015 yr HiI have a NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTX that cost me a lot of coin and now the overpriced sack of monkey vomit has cooked itself. I pulled it apart and it had eff all heat transfer compound around the GPU and what was left was grey and a bit like blue tack. I'm haveing no joy getting any warranty out of NVIDIA, they say it has to be dust causing the problem and wont have that it was built poorly. It aint dust as I'm religous about keeping my puter clean.So now I'm left with a dud card (10 bucks says no way I can buy a replacement GPU chip n bung that in) and having to outlay more cash to get a new one. The local computer guy wants to sell me a GTX 460 which is supposed to be better than the 8800GTX, should I get that (not of him though, he's a complete theif) or is there something better?Not overly worried about price as long as it doesnt get to silly. I can shop around as well.TIADanniellePS what does one do without flight sim? Personally I think it's not worth it to get anything better than that 460 1GB at the moment if it's just for FSX. r u fsx or fs9?I also think that Sid Barrett was a genious and Pink Floyd suck big time after he was replaced by david gilmour, but hey, that's just me hehe

November 6, 201015 yr depending on price difference, what resolution you are running at, and whether your PSU is capable - would a GTX470 not be a better bet ?they're not that much more now
