November 7, 201015 yr Commercial Member Hi guys,I know this is a pmdg forum, but i like this area of the avsim forums most and the guys on here. Robert already asked for help on the CS here, and now i need some help from you guys, if you have a moment.I fly in the UK most, and i cannot seem to get the 707 flying on the INS correctly. After T.o The heading bug seems to go always to around 180 degrees, even if i am trying to do a NAT track from london. :S or a heathrow to manchester flight. So i put in the position N53°21'14.00" W002°16'30.00like N53°211 W 2°163 [is that correct, may be my issue]I have made sure that the dopller/INS switch is on INS, what else do i need to have after take off and how to set the autopilot on! :)Cheers GuysAlex Alex Ridge Join Fswakevortex here! November 7, 201015 yr Is it the CIVA INS? if it is, the INS kicks in when the FSX AP is set to heading mode
November 7, 201015 yr Author Commercial Member Is it the CIVA INS? if it is, the INS kicks in when the FSX AP is set to heading modeHi Dazz, can you elaborate, i think your on the right line?Alex Alex Ridge Join Fswakevortex here! YOUTUBE and FACEBOOK
November 7, 201015 yr Well, the way the CIVA INS conversates with planes is by the native FSX autopilot heading mode. So if you have the mode selector to INS, I guess all you need to do is to engage the AP, and set it to heading mode. From the CIVA docs:"The INS systems use autopilot HDG mode to control aircraft heading. As soon asone switch is set in the ON position in the INS NAV MODE SELECTOR gauge, HDGis taken by the relative INS unit and is no longer under pilot's manual control. That iswhy the INS NAV MODE SELECTOR gauge is provided even for the Single INSconfiguration. To revert to normal autopilot HDG operations, make sure all INS NAVMODE SELECTOR switches are in the OFF position."I take it the INS/Doppler switch overrides the CIVA INS NAV MODE SELECTOR so I'd say all you need to do is to set the AP to heading modeI don't know how CS implemented their AP so can't help you with the exact switches to press, but there can't be so many ways to set the lateral navigation modes in the 707 Hi Dazz, can you elaborate, i think your on the right line?Alex
November 7, 201015 yr Commercial Member Guys,I would definitely prefer if we didn't have a bunch of posts about the usage of/support of non-PMDG aircraft products here. Robert gets a pass when he asked about the 707 GS indicator because he runs this joint. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
